Was there a double standard used by liberal media and the mainstream television networks against Roseanne Barr to literally dismember her due to her racially insensitive remarks against former Obama administration official Valerie Jarrett? Of course. Barr was fired from her highly popular comeback show Roseanne while Samantha Bee of Full Frontal is given a pass by the media for her vicious attack on Ivanka Trump by calling her a “feckless c..t” on her weekly TBS late-night show. Yet, according to Adweek, Bee may be in for a huge advertising loss.
The issue of two comedians using very inappropriate comments is not really the issue. Roseanne issued an apology and was summarily fired by ABC executives while Samantha Bee was allowed to comeback to her show with no suspension and with her foul-mouthed weapons still unholstered.
But, perhaps TBS executives did not take the temperature of this comedic hand grenade’s advertiser base before letting her get away with nothing more than a verbal slap on the wrists.
It seems that while her show appeals to the largely liberal “fiction is fact” base audience, the advertisers have to ply their products and services to the general public. Millions of people in the heartland of America utilize advertisers like State Farm and Autotrader that stated publicly that they would no longer advertise on the show, according to NBC News.
One could call it Roseanne’s revenge or what comes around goes around for these liberal-minded advertiser executives who have decided to stick it out with Bee. Each one of these advertisers should become the target of conservative product and service users for their support of Bee’s half-hearted, smarmy apology to Ivanka Trump.
Even though show advertisers like Orkin, Taco Bell, iPhone, Haagen-Dazs and Jim Beam were missing when he shows returned this week, they deserve watching. It is important that these advertisers are held economically accountable if they continue to advertise on her show. This woman not only insulted Ivanka Trump, she insulted half of the human race.
Consider the fact that the network has been aware of her countless usages of this very vile term and has done nothing. According to Adweek, she admitted in her disingenuous apology, “It is a word I have used on the show many times, hoping to reclaim it. This time, I used it as an insult. I crossed the line, I regret it and I do apologize for that.” Notice, that she did not state she would never use it again or target Christians or conservatives again.
Judi Lake, Executive Director of American Christian Civil Rights Movement, said that Samantha Bee must be fired. She stressed, “Bee is the poster woman for all that is vile in America’s liberal entertainment culture. She unlike Barr, attacks with the ugliness and unmentionable horrid verbiage that would shame any civilized person in America. Yet, she keeps her JOB, and Roseanne who posted a midnight tweet after using Ambien is shown the door. This tolerance by America’s mainstream cultural leaders has to end.”
Conservatives and Christians can show Samantha Bee the door by making a list of her advertisers and checking it twice, just like Santa. Give her an early Christmas gift and withhold support for her show’s advertisers by the millions.
Eventually, sooner rather than later, TBS executives will get the message that this double standard used by them to benefit Bee’s potty mouth expletives will not be tolerated. Silence is betrayal.
