When even your local police are OFFICIALLY telling you to pound sand, you might want to rethink your Corporate PR strategy.
The Miami Dolphins had tried to mend fences with first responders after last year’s disastrous public-relations nightmare.
That all fell apart on the first day of Preseason when last year’s protesting picked up RIGHT where it left off. (Although some cynics did point out how little time they took pushing that all-important protest during their OWN time during the off-season.)
Pathetic: It’s Only Pre-Season, But NFL Kneeling Is Already Back
Now that the players have shown where they really stand, the police have answered:
The Broward County PBA recently offered our members discounts to a Miami Dolphins game because that franchise said they were going to honor all First Responders. We entered into this partnership with the understanding that the Dolphins organization would require their players to stand for the National Anthem. This did not happen at last night’s preseason game against Tampa Bay. As a result, the BCPBA will no longer participate in this ticket program, and we are asking all of our members, as well as members of the Dade County PBA and Palm Beach County PBA, not to participate either. If you have already purchased tickets to this game, we encourage you to call the Dolphins ticket office to request a refund because this organization obviously DOES NOT honor First Responders and the dangers they put themselves in every day.

There are a LOT of first responders in America. If ALL of them took this same stand, we suspect that would be a HUGE proportion of those who have historically watched these games on TV or in person.
At what point will these players realize they’re taking an ax to the proverbial golden goose?

NFL’s TV ratings are plummeting as more players refuse to stand for the national anthem. It’s hard to believe that a nation that has given these players the opportunity to achieve so much is so easily disrespected. Even worse, consider the men and women who have laid down their lives so that these athletes could live in a relatively safe country and enjoy their fame and fortune.
