Nicholas Haros was one of the volunteers at Ground Zero reading out the names of the victims, including his mother. He had an unscripted message for the Democrats who invoke 9/11 when it suits them.
It’s the kind of message that should get a Democrat’s attention, seeing as it speaks their own language… the emotional harm done to a victim.
We have the clip here:
“And one more thing, if I may,” Haros started, talking over the music meant to end his speaking time.
“This year, a representative of the House referred to our loss as just another incident. This year, a network commentator said the president’s performance in Helsinki was a traitorous act as was 9/11,” Haros asserted. “And last week, a senator attacked a Supreme Court nominee and called him a racist for alleged comments after 9/11.”
“Stop. Stop,” he pleaded. “Please stop using the bones and ashes of our loved ones as props in your political theater. Their lives, sacrifices and death are worth so much more. Let’s not trivialize them or us. It hurts.”
The Representative was Nancy Pelosi.
The commentator was John Brennan.
The Senator was Cory Booker.
Notice he didn’t have any complaints about Republicans disrespecting the 9/11 victims, or using them as props?
The party that routinely demonizes the police, and is calling for the abolition of ICE is accused of using victims as props in a game of political theatre.
They talk so eloquently about how they are ‘champions’ for victims’ causes. But when the rubber hits the road, they’re only really interested in gaining (and keeping) the levers of power.
If that means they have to ditch one set of principles for another when the political winds shift, so be it.
9/11 was a generation ago. They’re betting that the public has forgotten it and moved on.
Are they right?
