Dear Liberals: Air Force Defends Troops MAGA Hats – Should I Call You A Wambulence?

Seeing the troops cheer Trump while he visited them in Iraq, the Media switched to damage control. They accused those cheering troops of breaking the law. Does anything trigger them quite like those red-and-white MAGA hats?
Does their hatred for Trump run so astonishingly deep that they would attack the patriotism of soldiers while deployed?
The obvious answer is: yes. Yes it does.
While NBC was busy backpedaling for their story about Trump being the first President since 2002 to NOT visit troops over Christmastime, CNN was trying to accuse those same troops of violating the Hatch Act for the ‘crime’ of getting their MAGA hats signed.
Were they similarly outraged when troops early in Obama’s presidency got their Obama-swag signed? Nope. Not at all.
Absolutely. I had @BarackObama and @JoeBiden at my base and my troops got autographs on all kinds of things, including campaign memorabilia. Never crossed my mind to question there actions because I didn’t need to, dammit.

Here were some of the military experts that were cited to prove that these soldiers were ‘in the wrong’.
“There are myriad reasons for both a Department of Defense and an Army Regulation against military personnel participating in or showing allegiance to ANY political party while in uniform,” wrote retired Army Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling on Twitter Thursday. “Good commanders enforce; good NCOs jerk a knot in the (expletive) of those who violate.”
Pam Keith, a former Navy judge advocate general and recent Democratic candidate for Congress in Florida, also opined. “I can tell you that engaging in partisan political activity such as flying a Trump flag or wearing a MAGA hat, while in uniform is a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and its implementing regs,” Keith said on Twitter.

Now that the TV experts have had their say, here’s the official statement from U.S. Air Forces Europe (USAFE):
U.S. Air Forces Europe said troops holding “Make America Great Again” hats during President Donald Trump’s visit Thursday to Ramstein Air Base were not in violation of military rules that prohibit taking part in partisan activities while in uniform.
“There is no rule against Airmen bringing personal items to be signed by the president,” USAFE said in a statement.
More than 200 airmen greeted Trump on Thursday at a Ramstein Air Base aircraft hangar, where the president and first lady Melania Trump were greeted with cheers.

We won’t hold our breath waiting for CNN to correct the record. They’ve doubled down with headlines like this: MAGA hat, campaign rhetoric cast cloud over Trump Iraq visit
How can they be so consistently and desperately wrong about who and what Trump is?
Are the supposedly ‘free’ press going out of their way to prove that ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ isn’t just a rhetorical dig against them, but really nails down their motives and behavior?
Are the Media(D) struggling to figure out why Trump could get a rock star’s welcome? It’s not that complicated, really.
