Putin Wants To PURGE Russia Of This Type Of MUSIC – Is He Right Or Ridiculous?

While everyone over here is losing their minds over the ‘rapey’  Baby It’s Cold Outside… Russians have taken issue with different music entirely.

And, if the pearl-clutching leftists are actually serious about their objections to ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside ‘ — the song that Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Sammy Davis Junior have all done their versions of — they’d have to concede that Putin has a point.

Love it or hate it, the teasing seduction of that song doesn’t cross anywhere NEAR as many moral lines as a genre of music that somehow gets a pass on any #MeToo objectionable scale.

The explosion of rap music in Russia spurred President Vladimir Putin to call for cultural leaders on Saturday to devise a means of controlling its role for youth culture instead of an outright ban, saying it otherwise will lead to the decay of the nation.

The Russian leader made the comments during a meeting in St. Petersburg, where he told cultural leaders that they must come up with a means to “lead it and direct it,” according to Sky News.

Putin noted that “rap is based on three pillars: sex, drugs and protest.” But he is particularly concerned with drug themes prevalent in rap, saying “this is a path to the degradation of the nation.”

He added that “drug propaganda” is believed to be worse than cursing.

Simply put, his objections to protest are doomed to fail. Crush one, and something else will come up in its place.

Aside from controlling protests, why would he care about a music genre that ‘degrade’ the nation? He’s been trying to encourage intact families having children, because he knows Russia’s future isn’t bright with a birth rate below replacement numbers.

And a music genre that celebrates littering the nation with fatherless children, celebrating strippers and drugs, while generally degrading women does not exactly line up with any plan of bringing his nation back from the brink. Especially if you accept the premise that culture really does shape behavior.

So, what do you think of his plan? Is he a despotic control freak? Or is he trying to avert a societal breakdown at the family level in Russia?
