You might think a man whose ex committed suicide might be more sensitive to the potential harm of attacking a child’s reputation over a twitter account with 18 Million followers.
And if his sense of decency wouldn’t stop him, perhaps the legal action ramping up in Covington might have given him pause.
But that would require understanding something about the dangers of hubris. Jim Carrey has learned no such lessons.
So he takes a news story that even the Mainstream Media players have retracted and apologized for, saying they were caught misrepresenting the events that happened, that the Covington kids were not the instigators, that the race-baiting cult was hurling profanities, including (using the left’s own language) homophobic slurs from bellicose old men who, as video shows, had been berating passers-by black, white and Native — but the boys did not answer insults for insult.
Then Nathan “my story keeps changing” Phillips walked right up to them (on film, naturally) sang in a language none of them spoke, and beat his drum in their faces. Then he ran off to the media and complained about how beastly those kids were to him, and chumps that they were, many in the media ran with the story unquestioned.
Now that the story is debunked, and Nathan Phillips isn’t quite the hero he was made out to be, and the boys have been nothing but gracious to Nathan Phillips — who is still calling for expulsions — what does comic has been Jim Carey do? He sees the MAGA hats and is overcome by hate.
