Dumb And Dangerous: The Left’s Plan For America

Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) recently published a book called America is Better Than This. It is, as you might guess, a left-wing attack on traditional American values and respect for the law. Travel Portland says, “It represents the heartfelt and candid voice of a concerned American who believes his country stands for something far bigger and better.”

The premise of this book suggests that is a twisted, hate-filled tome, but it does represent what most of the Left thinks about this country. In August of 2018, Governor Andrew Cuomo declared, “America was never that great.” Shaun King wrote in the New York Daily News on July 5, 2017, “The United States of America is not the best country in the world.” At the launch of her campaign, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) made the theme of the day, “America, we are better than this.”

It’s obvious that the Left doesn’t like President Trump’s “Making America Great Again.” Just what is it they hate so much? Could it be that more people have jobs now than before? Might it be that the economy is thriving? Might it be the administration’s unwavering support for law and law enforcement officers?

The Left does hate that the president is accomplishing great things in these areas. The African-American and Hispanic unemployment rates are lower than ever, but instead of celebrating this, the Left accuses the president and his supporters of racism and white nationalism. With respect to the economy, instead of cheering for the American worker and family, they are hoping for a recession. Regarding supporting law enforcement and officers, the Left doesn’t. Democrats in the Judiciary Committee voted against notifying ICE when an illegal alien fails a background check to purchase a gun. Senators Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) both perpetuated the anti-police lie of “hands up, don’t shoot” when they tweeted that Michael Brown, the black youth who was shot five years ago in Ferguson, Missouri, was “murdered” by white officer Darren Wilson. Not to be outdone, the liberal “fact-checker” PolitiFact declared, “There is no question that Wilson killed Brown, and there’s strong evidence that it was not accidental. In discussing the case with legal experts, however, we found broad consensus that ‘murder’ was the wrong word to use.” Really, how about declaring the whole tweet to be the vile lie it is? Don’t be deceived. The Left does not back law enforcement. If that’s the case, what do they support? Here’s a shortlist that reflects their vision.

First, they are for making sure that all illegal immigrants receive full health care and are not considered to have broken the law for entering the country illegally. They are the party of open borders. They believe that if you think the nation should have borders and laws about how to enter, you are a white nationalist racist. They don’t have a way to pay for it, but that won’t stop them. If they get elected, the economic success you enjoy now will vanish as they level higher taxes.

Second, they would like to promote abortion. No longer are the Democrats about making abortion “safe, legal and rare.” They want to celebrate abortions. Women who have aborted are instructed by the radical Left to “Shout Their Abortion,” a movement that urges post-abortive women to proudly cheer about their decision to abort. Every one of the current crop of Democrat candidates supports abortion and Planned Parenthood.

Third, they want to unravel the Judeo-Christian heritage that our nation was founded upon. The Heritage Foundation issued a report in 2011 that addressed the question “Did America Have a Christian Founding?” The report asserted, “There is in fact a great deal of evidence that America’s Founders were influenced by Christian ideas.” The abstract notes, “They firmly believed that God ordained moral standards, that legislation should be made in accordance with these standards, and that moral laws took precedence over human laws.” America’s founders also believed that humans were created in the imago dei —the image of God. We are, as we pledge, “one nation under God.”

The Democrats, though, want to weaken the ties to the Judeo-Christian heritage. They’ve eagerly embraced the most radical Muslims and support Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who are both anti-Semitic and don’t believe Israel has the right to exist. The Democrats, however, still support them both. Not only have they attacked the special bond that exists between the U.S. and Israel, they’ve eroded the biblical definition of marriage and now support having children choose what gender they are. Genesis 6:5 notes that before the flood, “The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

Fourth, many of the Left’s candidates want to radically transform our nation’s economy. It isn’t a stretch to say today’s Democrats want to implement a socialist ideology. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) are the leaders of the pack in pushing socialism. Both Sanders and Warren are attempting to lure the young vote by claiming to offer “free college tuition.” The truth is, though, nothing is free. This is another slick move by the Democrats to take someone else’s money, redistribute it and call it a wonderful day. It’s a terrible plan for college students and America. What’s terrible and dangerous is the way they propose to socialize health care. They want universal health care, which even some other Democrat candidates realize is a dreadful idea.

The list of Dumb and Dangerous things could go on and on. The scary thing is that half of the country believes in what the Left is promoting. 2020, as was 2016 before it, is an electoral crossroads. We’ll answer the question, what kind of country will we be?
