San Francisco ‘Leaders’ Just Labeled The NRA As ‘Domestic Terrorists’… No This Isn’t Satire

In case you were wondering how far from ‘mainstream’ the Left has gotten, defending a constitutional right is ‘terrorism’, but openly-violent ‘Antifa’ is not.

Here it is:

The city of San Francisco has formally adopted a resolution calling the National Rifle Association a domestic terrorist organization.

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors on Tuesday took the step of officially declaring the nation’s premier gun-ownership advocates a terrorist organization.

District 2 Supervisor Catherine Stefani wrote the scathing declaration reading in part, “the National Rifle Association spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence.”

“The NRA has it coming to them, and I will do everything that I possibly can to call them out on what they are, which is a domestic terrorist organization,” said Stefani.

…”Then the next weekend we had Dayton, Ohio. We had El Paso, Texas. Now we’ve had Odessa, Texas, and people are dying every day in this country,” said Stefani. “And doing nothing is not an option, and that it what the NRA continues to do.”

The NRA responded with a statement reading in part, “This ludicrous stunt by the Board of Supervisors is an effort to distract from the real problems facing San Francisco, such as rampant homelessness, drug abuse and skyrocketing petty crime, to name a few. The NRA will continue working to protect the constitutional rights of all freedom-loving Americans.”

Do these dopes even KNOW the definition of terrorism? Let’s start by defining our terms.

Here are the FBI’s distinctions between foreign and domestic terrorism:

International terrorism: Perpetrated by individuals and/or groups inspired by or associated with designated foreign terrorist organizations or nations (state-sponsored).
–for example, the December 2, 2015 shooting in San Bernardino, CA, that killed 14 people and wounded 22 which involved a married couple who radicalized for some time prior to the attack and were inspired by multiple extremist ideologies and foreign terrorist organizations.

Domestic terrorism: Perpetrated by individuals and/or groups inspired by or associated with primarily U.S.-based movements that espouse extremist ideologies of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.

Here’s a listing of the criminal statute, courtesy Cornell:

(5) the term “domestic terrorism” means activities that—
(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;
(B) appear to be intended—
(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or
(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and
(C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States; and

And here’s the DOD:

Department of Defense Dictionary of Military Terms defines terrorism as: The calculated use of
unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate
governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological.

Can any of these dopes please list the examples of violence they have participated in or advocated so they could achieve a political objective? And could they name that political objective?

Of course not, because no such examples exist.

Ok, then, what IS the NRA?

It is, among other things, a civil rights group with a particular emphasis on preserving from Government overreach the Natural (God-Given) Rights of American Citizens to self-protection, as outlined in the Second Amendment.

You know, those inalienable rights the totalitarian Left has an irritating habit of trying to strip us of.

In case your teachers in school happened to skip that lesson, here’s what we mean by inalienable rights:

Personal rights held by an individual which are not bestowed by law, custom, or belief, and which cannot be taken or given away, or transferred to another person, are referred to as “inalienable rights.” The U.S. Constitution recognized that certain universal rights cannot be taken away by legislation, as they are beyond the control of a government, being naturally given to every individual at birth, and that these rights are retained throughout life.

…The founding fathers intended the government of the new nation to have the sole charge of protecting the inalienable rights of its citizens, and made that clear as they stated:

“That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, – That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government …”

While there is not a specific list of rights that are considered inalienable in the Constitution, there are some rights that are generally accepted as natural rights of man. The list is extensive, and the following are but a few:

To act in self-defense
To own private property
To work and enjoy the fruits of one’s labor
To move freely within the county or to another country
To worship or refrain from worshipping within a freely-chosen religion
To be secure in one’s home
To think freely

How do we know gun rights are CIVIL rights? Because the pro-slavery party (the Democrats) tried to strip black citizens of their right to self-defense:

On Nov. 22, 1865, Republicans denounced Mississippi’s Democrat legislature for enacting “black codes,” which institutionalized racial discrimination, even stating: “No freedman, Negro, or mulatto shall carry or keep firearms or ammunition.” — Source: WND

Whose rights does the NRA fight for? Insofar as they fight to defend the Second Amendment, they fight for the ongoing and unrelinquished right of every American citizen, regardless of color, sex or creed to retain their natural right of self-defense.

Beyond that, they are extensively involved in firearm safety and training among both law enforcement and civilians.

It’s literally nothing more sinister than that.

To warp that into ‘terrorism’ is to defame a group that literally stands AGAINST criminal use or ownership of firearms. Or have we already forotten it was a former NRA instructor that stopped the Southerland Springs in his tracks — once he had retrieved his weapon from proper storage, that is.

Even the Left-wing British paper The Guardian was forced to admit:

Gun advocates also have a point when they argue that the general public does not have a very accurate sense of overall gun violence trends. A Pew survey after the Newtown shootings asked Americans if gun crime in the country had gone up or down over the last 20 years. The majority of Americans, 56%, said they believed gun crime was higher than 20 years before.

The reality was that America had become much safer over the previous 20 years. Even as the total number of guns in the civilian hands crept upwards, gun violence dropped sharply as the crack epidemic receded, for reasons that are still not fully understood. The country’s gun murder rate was down 49% since its peak in 1993.

The percentage of Americans who had an accurate understanding of this most basic gun violence trend: 12%.

SanFrancisco could turn its attention to violent crime, homelessness, drugs, rats, disease, feces on the streets, a failing education system or the disappearing middle class. But the Left has a piss-poor track record of actually solving problems. It’s far easier to find a scapegoat and demonize it until people forget about the more immediate problems that actually ARE in their ability to solve.

And wasn’t it in San Franciso that Kate Steinle got shot dead and her killer got off with a slap on the wrist? Is THAT somehow the NRA’s fault, too?
