Ideological purists have managed to tick off Obama. I think I just lost a bet.
Former President Barack Obama recently made some laudable comments at the Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago, Illinois.
Yes, really.
If the former President says something commendable, I think it should be celebrated and spread far and wide. Lord knows people need to hear this message!
It seems that POTUS 44 has had enough of the lecturing wokescolds who demand ideological purity that conforms to their worldview. Literally any conservative on Twitter could have told him that it’s gone too far.

The former community organizer turned Jr. Senator turned President spoke about “wokeness” and call-out/”cancel” culture and said that what is happening now it isn’t activism — it’s “casting stones.”
OBAMA: This idea of purity and you’re never compromised and you’re politically woke, and all that stuff — you should get over that quickly. The world is messy. There are ambiguities. People who do really good stuff have flaws. People who you are fighting may love their kids, and you know, share certain things with you.
One danger I see among young people particularly on college campuses — Malia and I talk about this — I do get a sense sometimes now among certain young people, and this is accelerated by social media, there is this sense sometimes the way of me making change is to be as judgmental as possible about other people and that’s enough. Like if I tweet or hashtag about how you didn’t do something right, or use the wrong verb, then I can sit back and feel pretty good about myself. ‘Cause man, did you see how woke I was? I called you out! Let me get on TV, watch my show… watch “Grown-ish.”
That’s not activism. That’s not bringing about change. If all you’re doing is casting stones, you know, you’re probably not going to get that far. That’s easy to do.

Perhaps this is one reason why Democrat 2020 contenders are twisting themselves in knots in order to criticize Obama’s legacy and attack Joe Biden for being his Veep.
Progressives gonna progress.
Frankly, if he isn’t canceled for his legacy, he will be for making a biblical reference to Jesus’s words when the scribes and Pharisees brought the woman who was caught in adultery before him, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”
After all, these people that are so “woke” are so much better than everyone else, right? They don’t live in glass houses, right?
