Remember all that smug chatter from those (empty) talking heads at CNN and elsewhere dogpiling on a class of teenage boys for, basically, wearing the wrong caps in public?
CNN looked at the writing on the wall and understood this was their best available option. Otherwise, they’d still be in court fighting it.
A News Media Corporation getting busted for bullying an innocent kid is NOT a good look.
CNN agreed Tuesday to settle a lawsuit with Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann.
The amount of the settlement was not made public during a hearing at the federal courthouse in Covington, Kentucky.
Sandmann’s lawsuit sought $800 million from CNN, the Washington Post and NBC Universal.
Trial dates are still not set for Sandmann’s lawsuit against NBC Universal and the Washington Post.
The Washington Post suit sought $250 million. A federal judge let a portion of the suit go forward after The Post filed a motion to dismiss it.

It didn’t say how much the payout was, but Here’s hoping it was a LOT — enough to make them think twice before slandering the next innocent person they disagree with.
Like a red flag supposedly sets off a bull, red MAGA hats routinely set off our ‘betters on social media.
When they caught wind of the ‘smirk’, those media ‘experts’ had themselves a social media show trial. Before the dust had settled, some boys whose situation and circumstances were completely unknown to them were assessed and denounced as horrible bigots.
The were doxxed. A wedding was ruined over it. Lives could have been ended or at least destroyed. Their school was closed that Monday, for safety reasons.
And it was all the media’s fault.
Their politicized ‘Orange-man-bad, Trump-Supporters-are-All-Racists’ narrative consumed them, and they didn’t care if the lives of innocent schoolkids were hurt in the process.
And they were hurt in the process.
These are the same ‘media professionals’ that tell us we are out of line to wonder whether Biden and his ADULT son were on the take with Ukraine, China and perhaps other places.
Nick Sandmann was a class act through it all, but fortunately, he lawyered up and fought back against those who had slandered him.
We’re glad he did.
Some bullies only stop when they get a punch in the nose.
Some Tyrants or dictators only stop when they get threatened by a stronger foreign power.
And News agencies? They’ll only stop slandering the right when their lies cost them money — a LOT of it.
