Kourtney Kardashian Tells Planet To Repent – Cites Epic Bible Verse

It wasn’t so long ago that the LAST thing you’d think of in connection to a Kardashian would be a text from Divine Writ. But we’re living in topsy-turvy times.

The text in question is an interesting choice, too.

Kourtney is actually citing the prayer of dedication King Solomon gave when they built the Temple in Jerusalem.

The reality star, 40, took to her Instagram Stories and shared a highlighted passage from the bible which had ‘Pay attention children’ written above it.

The passage reads: ‘Whenever I hold back the rain or send locusts to eat up the crops or send an epidemic on my people, if they pray to me and repent and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will hear them in heaven, forgive their sins, and make their land prosperous again.’

What the DailyMail missed was that the text was taken from 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.

When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Plenty of commenters were so busy pointing their fingers at her family that they totally missed the point of the verse… it builds in the assumption of human moral failings and a returning to God after having messed up at both the individual and the national level.

But even that assumption leaves room for the open invitation by God to repent return home to him, and call on him for help moving forward.

It’s a message that’s just as new and fresh today as it was three thousand years ago when Solomon first dedicated the temple.
