New York Man Arrested For Hoarding Medical Supplies And Selling Them To Doctors At 700% Markup

After what he did, this guy should go away for a long, long time.

Baruch Feldheim, a 43-year old Brooklyn man, has been accused of hoarding the coveted N95 respirator masks and selling them, along with other medical supplies, to doctors and nurses at exorbitant prices. He’s suspected of selling 1,000 of the masks to a New Jersey doctor for $12,000, which is nearly a 700 percent mark-up. Feldheim had massive supplies of non-medical items as well such as hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and surgical supplies. On March 25, a shipment of eight pallets of face masks arrived at Feldheim’s home.

The accused fraudster also directed another doctor to an Irvington, NJ, auto repair shop to pick up another order. There, the doctor reported to investigators that Feldheim was allegedly hoarding enough medical supplies “to outfit an entire hospital.”

The materials included hand sanitizers, Clorox wipes, chemical cleaning agents and surgical supplies.

By last Monday, Feldheim was operating from his Brooklyn home, offering to push surgical gowns to a nurse, the feds said.

On Sunday, federal agents stalked Feldheim’s home and witnessed “multiple instances” of people approaching the residence and leaving with what appeared to be medical supplies.

Feldheim is also facing charges for making false statements by claiming that he was infected with the coronavirus and coughing on FBI agents who approached him.

“When the agents were within four to five feet of him, Feldheim allegedly coughed in their direction without covering his mouth,” the US attorney’s release said. “At that point, Feldheim told the FBI agents that that he had the Coronavirus,” the statement said.

Feldheim then allegedly lied to FBI agents regarding his possession and sale of medical supplies.

He falsely told the agents that he worked for a company that bought and sold PPE and that he never took physical custody of the materials.

Federal agents loaded up the pallets of supplies into a truck.

What kind of ghoul decides to hoard medical supplies to gouge medical professionals in the middle of a global pandemic?

Let’s hope that Feldheim doesn’t see the light of day for a very long time for this incredibly unscrupulous and downright wicked behavior.
