President Trump Tweets That The United States Will Be Temporarily Suspending Immigration Amid Pandemic Concerns

As usual, President Trump tweeted and everyone on the left lost their damned minds.

Or what was left of their minds, anyway.

On Monday evening, Twitter exploded after the President tweeted out that in order to protect American jobs which have taken a massive hit after the government-imposed shut-downs, he will be temporarily suspending immigration to the United States using an Executive Order.

The NeverTrumpers and those on the left (but I repeat myself) went absolutely crazy!

Too bad they’re all one-trick ponies–they all claimed that this was “racism.”

Not one of these people can get it into their teeny, tiny brains that perhaps this is about jobs. Five minutes ago half of them were blaming Trump for massive job losses and a tanking economy and now they want to keep the doors wide open for immigrants to come in and take jobs while Americans are out of work.

These are the same people that want everyone to shut everything down for the next 18 months to two years.

What those in the anti-Trump crowd fail to comprehend is that according to 8 USC 1182 on “Inadmissible Aliens”, there is a section entitled, “Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President” or “212(f)” which states:

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

And if that wasn’t enough, section 215(a) states:

Unless otherwise ordered by the President, it shall be unlawful for any alien to depart from or enter or attempt to depart from or enter the United States except under such reasonable rules, regulations, and orders, and subject to such limitations and exceptions as the President may prescribe.

The Supreme Court has already ruled in the President’s favor on a challenge to his travel bans in 2018. In the ruling which specifically upheld this point of Presidential authority, the decision said that the Act, “exudes deference to the President in every clause. It entrusts to the President the decisions whether and when to suspend entry, whose entry to suspend, for how long, and on what conditions.”

So, when the legal challenge inevitably comes from the left, who want Americans to stay locked down while jobs go to new low-skilled immigrant workers, it should be a very short battle.
