Even Planned Parenthood knows that some partisan takes go way too far.
When a lifelong Democrat claims to have been sexually assaulted by her employer — and has corroborating witnesses who know about the complaint, including film of her mother calling Larry Freaking KING on CNN… the time for sweeping the story under the rug is over.
Unless the person she’s accusing happens to be the presumptive Democrat nominee for President.
When that happens, suddenly there’s a moral dilemma. Do we look the other way so as not to hurt our guy’s chances of turfing Trump?
Do we risk wounding him so badly that Bernie becomes the nominee by default, knowing he is so far Socialist that he might not even get votes from all the Democrats?
They really don’t, do they?
So rather than address this issue, Biden dodged it and let his team field the question. He let Pelosi, Stacey Abrams and others regurgitate the offical talking points about Tara being ‘heard’ but obviously there’s no substance to the allegations, blah, blah, blah?
They are calling her a liar. And if what she claims really DID happen, this would serve as a legitimate example of the Democrat party ‘revictimizing’ a sexual assualt survivor.
This is the EXACT thing that the whole #MeToo movement was supposed to stand against. Isn’t it?
Enter some moral clarity and perspective.

The Daily Beast isn’t somewhere the Left would expect to see incoming fire from. But this time – THIS time — is different.
Planned Parenthood is a lot of things. Many of them beneath contempt.
But on this issue, they are entirely correct. Biden wants the highest job in the land. There are some serious accusations on the table about how he has mistreated women. And they need to be answered. Standing behind the Statute of Limitations just won’t cut it.
He should release the relevant employment records. (The Democrats 2020 wannabees that goaded Mini Mike over harassment issues should have no trouble applying that same high standard to Biden right?)
And now that the ‘Counterpunch’ story from 2008 has resurfaced, he can’t even hide behind the ‘unimpeachable character’ claim.
Biden is a notorious flapjaw. His vanity deludes him into believing that every word that drops from his mouth is minted in the golden currency of Pericles. Vanity is the most conspicuous characteristic of US Senators en bloc, nourished by deferential acolytes and often expressed in loutish sexual advances to staffers, interns and the like. On more than one occasion CounterPunch’s editors have listened to vivid accounts by the recipient of just such advances, this staffer of another senator being accosted by Biden in the well of the senate in the weeks immediately following his first wife’s fatal car accident.
Planned Parenthood — who once tapdanced around the question about whether a doctor had any legal obligation to provide care to an infant who had survived an abortion attempt long enough to take his first breath, had incisive moral clarity on this issue.
Likewise, now that Hillary has endorsed Biden, Rose McGowan has concluded that the Democrats are not the white knights she had once taken them to be.
The other Democrats — as Trump’s son so aptly pointed out — do not have any moral clarity on this issue.
Reade’s complaint needs a fair hearing — and Biden should have to give an account of himself.
