Benghazi Heroes Remember The 8-Year Anniversary Of The Attack On U.S. Consulate With Heartfelt Instagram Posts

Written by K. Walker on September 12, 2020

It has been 8 years since the attack on Benghazi, but these heroes will never forget and neither should we.

Late on September 11 and into the morning of September 12, 2012, the Obama administration spectacularly failed to protect a U.S. Ambassador and U.S. citizens in Benghazi…and then lied about it.

After lies upon lies by the Obama administration, this moment when Hillary exploded at Senator Ron Johnson(R-WI) during the Libya Testimony will not be soon forgotten.

She’s so awful.

Incredibly, Democrats wanted her to be President in 2016.

While it’s important to remember that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Susan Rice, and the current Democratic nominee, Joe Biden, failed to act and were all complicit in the coverup of the terror attack in Benghazi by blaming it on a protest over a YouTube video, there are four other Americans that need to be remembered.

Americans should never forget that John Christopher Stevens, the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, and CIA contractors Tyrone “Rone” Woods and Glen “Bub” Doherty–both former U.S. Navy SEALs–died in Libya because of a terror attack by radical Islamists.

Two members of the security team in Benghazi, Kris “Tanto” Paronto, a former Army Ranger, and John “Tig” Tiegen, a former Marine, remembered the four men lost in Benghazi in Instagram posts.

Paronto posted several photos from his time in Benghazi as well as photos of the flag-draped coffins of Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

Paronto also wrote about the attack that night:

Libya ?? March 2012 to September 12 , 2012 . Several pics while I was working there . The first ones were after we loaded the US Flag draped coffins of my teammates Rone & Bub and Ambassador Chris Stevens & Sean Smith on our C17 flight from Tripoli to Germany. I then took a pic of Jack Silva as we couldn’t figure out what to say to each other and just sat quietly with our own thoughts of what happened and didn’t happen the night before. It’s hard to watch each mortar hit the roof top where Rone and Bub were fighting, seeing the last one hit as I was firing my M4 over and through their position approximately 35-40 meters to my front. Seeing the huge flashes of light through my NVG’s , feeling the concussions and pieces of debris rain down, then nothing but silence…..I’d be lying if I said I didn’t I relive that haunting moment everyday. I also remember God tapping me on the shoulder after I saw the last one hit, I had put my head down for a second , but he whispered in my ear “Get Your Gun Up Ranger ????” . No one ever knows what’s going to happen in the next minute let alone the next 13 hours. All we can do is to learn from and savor the experiences we have no matter how awesome or awful they are, sometimes they’re both at the same time . God bless you Rone & Bub , you fought like the warriors you are. And God bless you Chris and Sean, you will never be forgotten. #heroes #neverforget #neverquit #john1513 #demonscantgetme #godsplan #13hoursthesecretsoldiersofbenghazi #13hours #standfortheflag #enjoyyourfreedomthankavet #pmc #rltw #havefaith #alllivesmatter #keepgrinding?

According to his bio, Tiegen and his team defied a stand-down order, rushed into burning buildings to defend the Consulate, and fought the Islamic terrorists until CIA employees could be evacuated.

Tiegen posted a video tribute and wrote an uplifting message to honor those who died that day:

On This day at 21:32 Libya time, marks 8yrs when the USA administration abandoned over two dozen Americans to die and defend for themselves! They underestimated the fortitude and resolve of 6 contract veterans who stood up to face over 100 Muslim Jihadist head on and won.

Ty and Glen would want us all to live life to the fullest, to appreciate the little things we sometimes take for granted, to do things on a regular basis to improve ourselves and the lives of others. Never stop learning new things, setting new goals and striving to be better. Never quit. They would want us to have a positive attitude and push through life’s challenges no matter how bad things get. We can instantly change our frame of mind by changing our attitude.
All night in Benghazi up until the morning they died, they had every reason in the world to be down, depressed and have a bad attitude. Instead, they were in good spirits, maintaining a positive attitude and motivated everyone around them to get through the night. You would have never known they were in the middle of a war by just talking to them.
Find a purpose greater than ourselves to use as motivation and drive us to do great things. By focusing on helping others, we can accomplish a greater good.
Ty and Glen carried the weight for others that couldn’t on September 11th and 12th….. let’s do our best to honor them and their sacrifice by making the most out of every single day we have the privilege of living. Let’s all be the guy or gal that carries the weight.

Paronto also posted a tribute on Facebook remembering the fallen on 9/11 in Benghazi in 2012.

His full post reads:

Isaiah 26:19 – Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.
Today is a day we all focus on the remembrance of September 11th 2001 and September 11th 2012.
This day of remembrance should not be on the enemy that attacked us, but on the lives that were lost. We should celebrate the memory of those we have lost.
Tell stories of how they impacted this world in a positive way. Tell their stories to keep them alive in our hearts. Their names are forever engraved and captured on stone, metal, and the digital world of the internet. But it is our responsibility to share stories of them telling good and bad jokes, the way they smiled, laughed, and loved those in their lives. Share the mistakes they made, as well as the great achievements.
Do not use this day to point fingers at the enemy that caused their deaths, do not use this day for political “I got you” points, do not use this day to profit through sales from what happened on those days. Instead, make the best of this day, as well as all others by spending time with your family, helping others, and being a positive change in this world.
From my family and the rest of the Battleline Tactical team’s families, we pray that God help all of us to lift our eyes above the torment of this broken world, and grant us the grace to focus on the good and memories of those we love. As we honor the past, the lives of those lost, and may we put our faith in God’s future plans for us; for He is the source of life and peace. Amen!

Incredible tributes by two of our heroes who were there.

Honor those who died and never forget those 13 hours.
