Barack Obama House swept into the White House on a soaring message of hope and transformation. At his victory celebration, he boldly proclaimed, “Change has come to America.” Obama hoped to fundamentally transform America.
While Obama made a lot of changes in the American culture, many have concluded that the Obama presidency did not make all the changes necessary, leaving some liberals disappointed. The Democrats pinned their hopes in 2016 on Hillary Clinton. She would have Obama’s third term and do what needed to be done to reform America. Her coronation was all set up and the elites were salivating over the prospect of another liberal administration. Something happened, though, on the way to the party. Donald Trump ran for office and millions of regular American people spoke. The liberals have been outraged ever since.
As we near November 2020, their hopes for the radical transformation of America rides on the shoulders of Joe Biden. Make no mistake. If Biden and Harris are elected, the United States will never be the same. How? Let’s take a look.
1. Packing the Supreme Court
As I write this, I am listening to the hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Judge Barrett is qualified and is handling the Democrat smears and attacks fairly easily. Barring any shocking revelations, she will become Justice Amy Barrett. That will (and has to some degree) drive the left into a rage. If Biden-Harris were to win and the Democrats win the Senate, then the radical left will demand additional justices to overwhelm what they perceive to be conservative justices. Biden refuses to reject this idea only saying that he “is not a fan” of court-packing.
The truth is Biden will absolutely pack the court. He will increase the Court’s membership from nine justices and change what has been the practice on the Supreme Court since 1869.
2. Abolish the Electoral College
The Democrats have boldly declared that they want to eliminate the Electoral College and move exclusively to a popular vote. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called the Electoral College a “scam” that negatively impacts minorities. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Biden’s VP nominee, has said she’s open to the idea of abolishing the electoral college. No one knows for certain what Biden will do.
The final analysis is this. If Biden and the Democrats win, they will do what they can to ensure Democrats never lose. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) vowed, “Nothing is off the table.”
3. Do Away with the Filibuster
This sounds like it is an “in the weeds” issue, but it is crucial for the Democrats’ plan. If Biden were to win and the Democrats gain the Senate, one of the first things they will do is eliminate the filibuster. President Obama called on the Senate to get rid of the filibuster in his eulogy for Congressman John Lewis.
Biden got the hint and suggested he was open to ending the filibuster, “depending on how obstreperous” Republicans are. “You’re just going to have to take a look at it,” he said according to a CBS News article. Harris also expressed a willingness to get rid of it in order to pass the Green New Deal, she said last year during a CNN town hall on climate change.
Why does this matter? The filibuster requires a super-majority of 60 senators to end debate on most issues and move to a vote. The Senate is the only place in our federal governmental structure where the filibuster is in place. If the filibuster is no longer the rule, the Democrats can pass all the wild and crazy changes they want and vote on them with a simple majority. Pack the Court, it will only need 50 senators and the vote of VP Harris. Abolish the Electoral College? 50 plus the VP.
This is an absolutely dangerous thing to do and you can be confident the Democrats will do it if they can.
In addition to the three radical ideas listed above, the Democrats under Biden will likely make Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico states in an attempt to gain more votes in Congress. There are discussions to divide California into three separate states to widen the number of Democrat votes.
All of this might sound shocking or crazy. If so, it’s because it is. It is, though, the goal of the leftwing which is leading Joe Biden and the Democrats. If Biden wins in three weeks, Obama’s dream will become reality. America will be radically transformed. Is this the kind of America we want?
