Pelosi’s Crackpot Changes To Congressional Rules On Gender-Neutral Language

Prior to rioters storming the Capitol Building (it was likely they were people infiltrating the Trump supporters) and all the finger-pointing, possible repercussions, and even talk of purging conservatives, the House of Representatives passed a rule mandating gender-neutral language.

Such a rule was adopted after Representative Emanuel Cleaver said both “amen” and “awoman” after concluding his prayer in the house chamber. Under this rule, words such as mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, chairman, chairwoman, seamen, himself, and herself will be replaced with parent, parents, child, children, sibling, siblings, chair, seafarer, and themselves.

No doubt words such as mom, dad, moms, dads, mommy, daddy, mommies, daddies, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandmother, grandmothers, grandfather, grandfathers, granddaddy, great-grandmother, great-grandmothers, great-grandfather, great-grandfathers, stepmother, stepfather, stepmothers, stepfathers, stepson, stepdaughter, stepsons, stepdaughters, stepbrother, stepsister, stepbrothers, stepsisters, half-brother, half-sister, half-brothers, half-sisters, actor, actress, actors, actresses, steward, stewardess, stewards, stewardesses, waiter, waitress, waiters, waitresses, airman, airwoman, airmen, airwomen, coastguardsman, coastguardswoman, coastguardsmen, coastguardswomen, policeman, policewoman, policemen, policewomen, workman, workmen, manhole, mankind, man, woman, men, women,
businessman, businesswoman, businessmen, businesswomen, fireman, firewoman, firemen, firewomen, mailman, mailwoman, mailmen, mailwomen, postman, postwoman, postmen, postwomen, chairmen, chairwoman, chairwomen, barman, barwoman, barmen, barwomen, barmaid, barmaids, boy, girl, boys, girls, guys, gals, guy, gal, chick, dude, chicks, dudes, dudette, dudettes, dude ranch, telephone man, telephone woman, telephone men, telephone men, telephone women, phone man, phone woman, phone men, phone women, gentleman, gentlewoman, gentlemen, gentlewomen, lady, ladies, he, she, his, her, hero, heroine, heroes, heroines, villain, villainess, villains, villainess, cowboy, cowgirl, cowboys, cowgirls, master, mistress, masters, mistresses, hunter, huntress, hunters, huntresses, fisherman, fisherwoman, fishermen, fisherwomen, churchman, churchwoman, churchmen, churchwomen, deliveryman, deliverywoman, deliverymen, deliverywomen, manpower, manhandle, manhood, manliness, yeoman, yeomen, married man, married woman, the phrase “his own man”, the phrase “be a man”, manish, womanish, womanhood, manly, womanly, menfolk, womenfolk, womanliness, girly, ladylike, etc. will be prohibited as well.

Needless to say, such a rule is absolutely ridiculous. What was the reason for passing this rule? Was it because of political correctness (as appears to be the case since the House leaders wanted more inclusiveness) or was someone offended by the House not words that are not gender-neutral? And just what are the penalties for those who don’t use gender-neutral language?

Apparently, Nancy Pelosi and those who pushed for this rule are unaware that gender-neutral language and words considered not to be gender-neutral can be used interchangeably, or perhaps they are oblivious to this fact.
