Does this mean that we can call them “illegal aliens” again?

Or is that only if they’re housed at Area 51?

It looks like the Biden Administration has filled up the Obama-era “cages” for migrant children despite opening up a detention facility that had been closed under the Trump administration.

Now that President Biden has been removing all of the prior administration’s border control measures — including ending all detentions — migrants are responding by flooding the border.

Gangs and coyotes are emboldened by the new shift in policy that favors open borders.

One thing that has been a huge problem is the sudden surge of unaccompanied minors that are coming across the border.

With the Biden administration doubling-down on the Obama-era immigration policies that encouraged the phenomenon of “unaccompanied minors”, it’s no surprise that it’s starting again. That’s what happens when behavior is incentivized — you get more of it.

The number of unaccompanied minors crossing the border has gone up dramatically — up to 3,500 in recent weeks.

The majority of children in CBP custody are over the age of 13 with only about 200 below the age of 12. Once apprehended, they are supposed to be transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services within 72 hours, but nearly 1,500 have been there for longer than that due to lack of space in DHS facilities. There are currently 8,100 migrant minors in the facilities run by the Office of Refugee Resettlement of the DHS.

Now, the DHS is in talks with NASA to use one of their sites in California as a “Temporary Influx Care Facility” for minor children who have illegally crossed the border.

Sources told ABC News that plans are still in flux, but the site, Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View, is expected to house a number of unaccompanied minors in Customs and Border Protection custody, which has risen to just under 3,500 in recent weeks, according to sources and internal CBP documents reviewed by ABC News.

“The Department of Health and Human Services has requested federal agencies to determine whether they have currently vacant properties that might be available and suitable for potential future use as Temporary Influx Care Facilities for unaccompanied migrant children,” Darryl Waller, a spokesman for NASA told ABC News.

“HHS and NASA’s Ames Research Center are coordinating a site assessment of some currently vacant property at Moffett Field, California, for HHS personnel to determine whether certain facilities at the site might be suitable to temporarily provide shelter space in the future. This effort will have no impact on NASA’s ability to conduct its primary missions,” Waller said.

A NASA facility might be an improvement on the repurposed shipping containers that are currently full in Carrizo Springs, Texas. The potential NASA facility would function as the Carrizo Springs facility does — it will be run by HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement and house the minors until they can be reunited with family members or sponsors in the United States.

According to CBP data released Wednesday, the agency stopped more than 100,000 unauthorized crossing attempts from Mexico last month.

The continued increase in arrests marks the highest monthly total since Border Patrol stations were overwhelmed by an influx of migrant families in the spring of 2019. Roughly a quarter of those crossing are repeat offenders, one senior CBP official told reporters.

The Biden administration has repeatedly refused to admit that this is a crisis at the border, and Southern Border Ambassador Roberta Jacobson denies that the surge has anything to do with Biden’s lax border measures, but insists that it’s due to “hope” for a “more humane policy” after 4 years of Trump.

The “hope” that these desperate migrants are feeling is that they don’t have to go through the time-consuming and expensive legal process of immigration. And all they have to do is pay nefarious people lots of money to treat them like a commodity.

If you look at their actions, the Biden administration clearly doesn’t care about border security. If they did, they wouldn’t have gutted Trump’s policies that kept these surges to a minimum.
