AOC Says ‘Gutting Of Mental Health System’ Not Bail Reform Is The Reason Violent Hate Crimes Are Spiking In NYC (VIDEO)

Remind me, which party thinks it’s “compassionate” to allow people to wander around homeless with untreated mental illness?

Well, let’s just take a look at where homelessness has become a rather big problem–blue states and big cities in red states that are run by Democrats.

Decades ago, all the “progressives” thought it wasn’t compassionate to lock up the mentally ill in institutions–and in a way, they were right. The institutional system was truly awful in many ways, but the decision to just allow the mentally ill to roam the streets has left us with a homelessness problem that is absolutely out of control, with rampant illicit drug use, prostitution, and degradation. It’s inhumane and just seems to get worse every year.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is insisting that the sudden spike in violent hate crime attacks isn’t a result of the leftwing policy of bail reform, but instead lies in the lack of funding for mental health treatment.

The absolutely insane “compassionate” leftwing policy of ending cash bail allows people who have been charged with a crime right back out on the street where they can then commit another crime, even if it is a charge like aggravated assault.

On Thursday, ClashDaily reported that the man who was caught on video punching an Asian woman in the face had been arrested for multiple assaults since July. At the arraignment hearing, the prosecutor highlighted Alexander Wright’s most recent violent crimes and recommended 364 days in jail. The judge agreed and set bail at $15,000 cash.

It would seem that letting people out of jail who repeatedly commit violent attacks just means that you’re going to get more violent attacks.

Yet, Congresswoman AOC insists that the real problem is a lack of funding to the mental health system.

Alright, let’s just think about that for a second.

Does this mean that she is:

A) blaming hate crimes on mental illness and thereby excusing them

or

B) branding the homeless and mentally ill as racists perpetrating violent hate crimes

Or does it all depend on the race of the perpetrator?

Are black perpetrators of violent hate crimes just suffering from the lack of mental health supports and therefore the true victims, while white people suffer from “white supremacy” embedded in our institutions that make them racist and then they act out that racism?

We were told by the “experts” in the FBI, the Corporate Media, and the Biden-Harris administration, that hate crimes are being perpetrated en masse by right-wingers. You know, those MAGA-hat-wearing bigots that want things like secure borders, blue-collar jobs on U.S. soil rather than overseas, and not having their conservative social positions crapped on by the Liberal elites in academia, Hollywood, “woke” corporations, sports, the media, and politicians like AOC.

Remember, AOC was quick to say that the cause of anti-Asian violence is “white supremacy” in the wake of the Atlanta Spa shooting which the shooter and investigators said was a result of his shame over his sex addiction.

She’s also said that “white supremacist sympathizers” are in the Republican Party.

Now, it’s pretty clear that you’ve got to have something wrong in your head to hate a group of people based on their skin color, but that isn’t a Get Out Of Jail Free Card. If you do the crime, you should do the time. And if you keep doing the crimes, you should do even more time.

It seems to me that AOC has two choices here–she can drop the blaming “white supremacy” for anti-Asian and anti-Semitic hate crimes since it’s pretty clear that, unfortunately, there is a particular racial demographic committing those crimes disproportionately, and they’re not white. Unfortunately, it’s fashionable right now to blame “white supremacy” for everything–even when hate crimes are committed by non-whites. 

Or she can start sounding the alarm on the errors of progressives in the 1970s and 1980s who didn’t think it was “compassionate” to actually insist that people treat mental illness and the ones who now say it’s a “human right” to live on the street. That doesn’t mean a return to large-scale institutions that were hubs of abuse and mistreatment.

Simply calling for “more funding” for mental health while putting violent people back on the streets won’t change things. And we desperately need to change things both for the people living in this cycle of hell due to homelessness and mental illness, and the general public who are increasingly at risk just walking down the street.

Pick one, AOC.

Of course, she won’t.

Let’s just focus in on that last part of the clip where she talks about reducing the number of people in jail by…not building more jails.

Using AOC’s logic, this means that we could eliminate all hate crimes by simply not reporting them! Heck, we could do that with all crimes! The news would all be sunshine and lollipops–just don’t leave your home or you’ll break the illusion.

This is clearly not a serious person.
