Stories like this one make it really tough for Joe to claim the moral high ground on his open borders policy supposedly so compassionate to ‘refugees’.

Joe Biden plays fast and loose with anyone coming in across the border with Mexico, but when it comes to offering refugee status to foreigners who are legitimately in harm’s way, he’s suddenly keen on playing ‘by the book’.

Or at least, that’s the excuse he provided when he told Congress that we can’t possibly help evacuate the translators that worked with us in Afghanistan (and their families), even though it was a near certainty that their remaining behind would amount to signing their death warrants.

He was eventually shamed into providing emergency funding and visa processing for thousands of translators… part of the logistics considerations and second-order consequences of withdrawal that should have been worked out before Biden rushed ahead with an incomplete withdrawal plan.

Now, one of the translators who helped us, but whose contract ended has become proof that these concerns were not unfounded.

Sohail Pardis is reported to have been beheaded by extremists after he was attacked outside Kabul.

His family said he was dragged from his vehicle after being shot as he tried to escape a Taliban checkpoint on a road in Khost.

Villagers who witnessed the horrific incident are said to have explained to the Red Crescent how Taliban shot his car before it swerved and stopped.

Pardis was the thirty-year-old father of a nine-year-old girl.

[He]… had worked as an interpreter for US forces for 16 months and had applied to be relocated on security grounds to America.

He was rejected because he had been dismissed having been terminated in 2012 after failing a routine polygraph, or lie detector, test. He was never told why he failed the polygraph.

The screenings were conducted through a contracted company. Hundreds of translators who failed the tests say they had issues with the questions asked and did not believe them to be reliable.

They claim their contracts were terminated for what they say was unjust cause. The US government has also said it will not be reviewing the cases. Pardis was looking for a way out of Afghanistan but was not able to qualify for the Special Immigrant Visa because of his termination.

…Days before his death, Pardis told a friend he had been receiving death threats from the Taliban, who upon discovering he worked as a translator for the U.S. Army for 16 months, accused him of being a traitor and a spy.

‘They were telling him you are a spy for the Americans, you are the eyes of the Americans and you are infidel, and we will kill you and your family,’ his friend and co-worker Abdulhaq Ayoubi told CNN. —DailyMail

If Mr. Pardis did not qualify because he had failed a polygraph test, and ‘hundreds of translators’ failed that same test, it would stand to reason that ‘hundreds of translators’ are dead men walking. And Biden’s administration will not lift a finger to help them.

If this happened under Trump’s watch, the headlines would be screaming about this blood being on Trump’s hands, would they not? Congressional Democrats would be denouncing the withdrawal plan as incompetent and reckless, while the news ran a daily body count of every translator who died because of his malfeasance. We can say this with some confidence because that’s been their go-to play any time they can connect deaths and some tragic event to a Republican in office. But when a Democrat comes to office, those death clocks suddenly disappear, whether they are the COVID graphics on CNN, or the daily updates of how many died in Iraq and Afghanistan that suddenly went quiet after POTUS 44 came into office.

The following was written on July 14th.

After Biden’s speech, a reporter asked him why the government can’t evacuate Afghan translators to the US to await visa processing, like some migrants at the southern border who have been allowed into the country while their cases are addressed.

Biden responded: “Because the law doesn’t allow that to happen. And that’s why we’re asking the Congress to consider changing the law.”

Facts First: Biden’s “the law doesn’t allow that to happen” claim is dubious. According to multiple experts in immigration law, there is a law that allows the Biden administration to bring Afghans who worked with American troops to the US before their visas are finalized. Specifically, these experts say, the Department of Homeland Security has the legal authority to grant these Afghans immigration “parole,” under which they could enter the US while their applications are still being assessed. The US already has parole programs for designated population groups from other countries. —KTVZ

Joe Biden does NOT care about what the law allows to happen. With over a million people crashing our border since he came to office, he is actively shutting down construction for 31 miles of border wall in Laredo with money earmarked from fiscal 2020. The reason given was ‘because they “are not necessary to address any life, safety, environmental or other remediation requirements’.

He loves that people are flooding over that border. He is eager to offer them amnesty… Democrats themselves have said their party’s future political success hinges on this issue. But when people are fleeing political persecution under a dangerous regime like Cuba, or political instability in Haiti? The message is very different.
