Did Ukraine Just Uncover Plans For A Coup And Russian Invasion Next Month?

After Joe Biden spent so much time claiming Trump was ‘soft’ on Putin, it’s put up or shut up time. If he’s the great ‘defender of democracy’ he pretends to be, it’s time to prove it.

With so many things falling apart under Biden’s brand of ‘leadership’, even big stories can escape our notice. As a child of the Cold War, I can hardly believe I’m writing this, but with Afghanistan, inflation, a looming energy crisis, the broken border, COVID mandates, supply chain issues, and a bellicose China showing off their latest weapons of war, problems with Russian aggression were almost an afterthought.

But like so many other of the worst features of the Carter administration, even that is making a comeback under Joe Biden.

The last time Biden had a job at the White House, Russia carved off a slice of Ukraine for itself. Has the return of another Democrat Commander-in-Chief emboldened Putin to finish the job?

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Friday Ukraine had uncovered a plot to overthrow his government next week involving individuals from Russia, although he declined to say whether he thought the Kremlin was behind it.

Speaking at an hours-long press conference, Zelenskiy said Ukrainian intelligence had obtained audio recordings of the plotters, including people from Russia, trying to rope business magnate Rinat Akhmetov into joining a coup.

The Kremlin swiftly denied any role in any coup plot, saying it had no plans to take part in such acts. A spokesperson for Akhmetov, Ukraine’s richest man, had no immediate comment. “We have challenges not only from the Russian Federation and possible escalation – we have big internal challenges. I received information that a coup d’etat will take place in our country on December 1-2,” Zelenskiy said.

…But he also spoke at length at the press conference of a threat of Russian military escalation and said Ukraine would be ready for it.

Russia has been building up forces near its border with Ukraine. Kyiv, the United States and NATO have voiced concerns in recent days about a possible Russian attack — a suggestion the Kremlin has dismissed as false and alarmist.

Joe Biden — PERSONALLY — has been an enormous blessing to both the Russian economy and Putin’s growing ability to blackmail his European neighbors.

In undermining American energy independence at every turn, Biden decreased global oil supply, raising the value of the most important export in Putin’s Petroleum economy. By ending Trump-era sanctions on Russia’s pipeline to Europe, Biden gift-wrapped them access to a ready market to fill the coffers of Putin’s war machine.

Worse still, AMERICA is now importing massive amounts of Russian oil, meaning WE are enriching our enemy, thanks to Biden’s woke oil policy. U.S. imports of oil and refined petroleum products from Russia increased 23 percent in May to 844,000 barrels a day from the prior month, according to the Energy Information Administration. Mexico lost its number 2 ranking because its shipments to the United States increased by less than 3 percent. Russia has become a favored source for U.S. refiners largely because it produces semi-refined oils such as Mazut 100, which is a feedstock for American refineries that are accustomed to processing heavy crude from Venezuela and the Middle East—sources that have dried up due to sanctions on Venezuela and OPEC output limits.

…Russia is also benefiting from supplying U.S. refiners with heavy oil, becoming the second-largest supplier of oil and petroleum products to the United States, behind Canada.

By removing sanctions against the pipeline, Joe set up European countries like Germany susceptible to the same ‘freeze in the dark’ blackmail Russia used against Ukraine. The only reason Norstream 2 is not already going ahead is that Germany blocked the needed approval.

With 92,000 Russian troops amassed on the Ukranian border, it is going to take more than the hapless Blinken saying ‘please stop’ to solve this problem.
