Remember the first weekend after Trump’s inauguration? All those protesters put on their silly pink hats and pretended to care about the plight of abused women?

That play really aged well, didn’t it?

What happened to the left’s interest in MeToo issues?

Suddenly, they have nothing to say about the issue they pretended to be so passionate about when Orange Man Bad was in office.

What could have possibly changed? Oh, that’s right…

Harvey Weinstein. Anthony Weiner. Various politicians — mostly Democrats. A half-dozen liberal media personalities — including that lame Cuomo brothers comedy act.

Don’t even get us started on all the powerful names that never came up during the Jeffrey Epstein / Ghislaine Maxwell investigation.

And with Democrat staffer Tara Reade having credibly accused Joe Biden of having sexually assaulted her with his fingers, those ‘grab her by the p***y’ chants have fallen strangely silent with Tara’s story being explicitly suppressed during the last election.

Even human trafficking is a story they downplay as unimportant because it would cast an unwelcome light on the horrific human cost of their open borders strategy.

There was a time, not so long ago, in which radical feminists would take a strong stand against women being exploited for sex. But now, even that has changed; now they call it ’empowerment’.

Meanwhile, France has taken a strong stand in the direction of protecting victims from sexual predation… and in limiting porn access to adult viewers.

The French government has announced it will move to block five of the world’s major porn sites from tomorrow unless they introduce protective measures to ensure all users are aged 18 or over.

Adult websites Pornhub, xHamster, XVideos, XNXX and Tukif were given until today to implement stricter age controls on users looking to access their content.

The move by France’s Higher Audiovisual Council looks to force the websites to comply with a law introduced last year which made it compulsory to carry out proper age verification checks for adult content.

The council said the sites’ current tactic of simply asking users to fill out a check-box stating they are over 18 is not satisfactory and that they are breaking the law by failing to introduce better controls.

If effective verification is not implemented, the council said it would ask a judge to block the sites. —DailyMail

Seeing as porn addiction can have some serious negative health consequences for many users, limiting access to older users seems like a reasonable idea.

Who would have guessed that France would be leading the charge in protecting minors from adult exposure to sexuality?

But there are at least two rational reasons the left would follow France’s lead on this issue. Two issues they claim to care about.

Mental Health

Here are a few relevant stories about the psychological impact of porn on both users and makers of that porn.

Here’s a headline from 2013. It talks about kids as young as 8 hooked, and visiting triple x sites several times a day. Do you really think the issue has gotten better since then?

Or another one, from the same year, in which a middle school sex teacher found the kids had a deeper knowledge of the seedier side of the internet than any of the adults present, including himself, and that gritty porn had already set the sexual expectations and norms of many of the people in that room.
