The student in the 8th grade is the son of a cop which made this berating even more disgusting.

On Monday, a confrontation at Lyman Gilmore Middle School in Grass Valley, California was captured on multiple students’ cellphones and shared all over social media.

A substitute math teacher berated a 13-year old student for the cloth mask he was wearing in compliance with California’s mask mandate in schools.

In a world that has political symbols everywhere, 13-year old Lucas Lillar decided to wear a “Thin Blue Line” mask to show his support for law enforcement.

That apparently set off the teacher who told him, “That’s not the American flag, that’s the new Confederacy flag.”

Check out how CBS 13 frames the way the “Thin Blue Line” flag:

Lillar, whose father and stepmother are members of law enforcement, said he wears the mask as a show of support for his family.

“It just makes me feel worried,” he said when asked about what it is like to be the son of a member of law enforcement.

The “Thin Blue Line” flag, which resembles an American flag but has a blue stripe, is a sign of support for law enforcement but has also come to signal opposition to the racial justice movement and a symbol of white supremacy or support for the Blue Lives Matter cause.

Just a thought, but… maybe vilifying every single member of law enforcement as evil racists is a bad thing to do.

Here is Lillar and his mother speaking to CBS 13 News:

Lillar says that he has worn the mask to school on numerous occasions before without any incident.

“I was extremely angry and heartbroken, that this…that he had to deal with it,” said Amanda McCallum, Lucas’s mother.

McCallum said she went school administrators when she learned about the incident. She said she was told by Lyman Gilmore’s Principal that the substitute teacher will not be able to teach at the school in the future.

“I never had someone talk to me like that, yell at me in my face, especially a teacher,” said Lillar.

Here’s the CBS 13 News report:

Andrew Withers, the Grass Valley School District Superintendent and the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, Scott W. Lay, both responded by email to CBS 13 saying the same thing — the situation is being investigated but they cannot comment on “personal matters.”

Lay wrote:

The incident is currently under investigation, and we will take appropriate action. The California Education Code §44953 allows for immediate dismissal of a substitute teacher. We expect all educators to perform their duties with utmost respect and professionalism to afford our youth an environment conducive to learning. The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing that governs educator credentials will be informed of this incident.

The Left wants to label every single law enforcement officer in the entire country as a racist, bigot who wants to crush visible minorities under their bootheels based on the narrative being pushed by activists and the media despite clear data that shows otherwise.

Meanwhile, we do know that there are a whole lot of activists working as public school teachers who are committed to the indoctrination of students and pushing them ever further to the left. They’re open about it on social media.

Libs of TikTok posts leftwing lunacy of all sorts, but the teacher content is a bottomless well to draw from.

Get your kids out of public school if you can.
