Have you ever noticed that some believers seem to walk in a different level of boldness, fearlessness even, than most folks whose backsides just warm a seat in church every Sunday?

What makes them different? Is it greater devotion? Greater discipline? Piety?

Here’s what it might be — they might have a completely different vision of God than the average Christian.

Those bold believers might have tapped into a vision of God that is more than the spiritual equivalent of bringing the Designated Driver along to the party. You know, the goofy guy who isn’t much fun to be around but he’s useful and can get you out of trouble.

How many people secretly hold a view of God that looks a little bit like that? Probably more than they’d like to admit.

Guess what those people do NOT see? They don’t see the God whose holy presence was enough to make prophets fall down like dead men. Remember Isaiah in chapter 6?

You come toe-to-toe with a God like THAT one and your life’s going to change forever. It makes you walk differently… the way Israel did with the limp.

Let’s take a look at what we’ve been missing with the little-g god our sorta-Christian culture has been mistaking for the Real Deal.

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.

Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.

This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
