Anyone can check off a few boxes and claim to be a Christian, but how are you doing where it really counts?
People around the world are routinely imprisoned or killed for daring to speak the name of Jesus.
Rich shares the life experience of a few people he met from genuinely persecuted countries. Where they come from, Christian women are repeatedly raped with the deliberate intention of burdening them with unwanted children. The shocking part was the part when those women prayed for their persecutors. Love like this is a wake-up call for the modern believer.
It cuts our jayvee ‘somebody insulted me on social media’ problems down to size.
It’s easy to say we’re living a genuine example of faith in a culture where supposed pastors spew heresy like this: “Sen. Raphael Warnock was slammed over a since-deleted tweet saying “the meaning of Easter is more transcendent” than the resurrection of Jesus.”
But Jesus never lets us get off that easy.
He doesn’t hold up a cheap moral standard of that other guy we think we’re better than. He points us to the standard of his own moral perfection.
We all fail that test. When we do, He reminds us that we can’t live this life without His Spirit.
When we judge others who fail? Well, then, we’ve missed the point entirely.

While you’re at it, here’s his latest book:
Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.
Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.
This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
