Hey Catholics: Bishop Blasts Biden As ‘Heretic’ And ‘Apostate’ … Do You Agree?

When Biden was sworn in with a Bible as big as some people’s chests, Beltway elitists ‘oohed’ and ‘ahhed’ that he was such a wonderfully devout Catholic.

Only a year later, he is being called out by leaders in his own church for being exactly the opposite.

The latest round of denunciations came in response to his full-throated support of Roe v. Wade. He was objecting to the leaked draft of what may or may not represent the final decision to strike down Roe v. Wade and return the question of abortion to the State level.

Let’s keep in mind that blue states like NY can continue permitting abortion at any time for any reason right up until the moment of birth. (That state even went so far as to strike down laws that include an additional criminal charge to offenders ending the life of the unborn child during the act of assaulting a pregnant woman.)

In the midst of the contrived outrage, we’re all supposed to ignore the fact that states like NY, NJ, and Vermont extending the abortion window through the entire pregnancy violates the spirit of their beloved Roe v Wade by legitimizing abortions far beyond the point of viability.

What really bothers abortion activists is that Red States have been exercising the same autonomy over their own abortion laws, just in the other direction. How dare they exercise the principles of Federalism in America!

Joe has thrown in with those most extreme of the abortion activists in joining the cries of outrage. Leaders in Joe’s church are calling him out on it.

Meet deacon Keith Fornier.  What he said about Biden was shared by a bishop.

If the charge of ‘heretic’ or ‘apostate’ seems strong, another tweet by the Bishop brings the receipts. In that tweet, the bishop shared an article issued by Catholic Answers that cited specific statements made by Biden in response to the leak. It was Joe who brought theology into the discussion by trying to invoke no less a Catholic luminary than Thomas Aquinas to justify the cause of abortion.

You need not be Roman Catholic to understand that the moment Biden invokes Aquinas in the moral defense of abortion…? ‘Them’s fighting words.’

Here’s what Biden said, as cited in Catholic Answers”

On Monday night, Politico reported that it had obtained a leaked draft of a Supreme Court opinion overruling the Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey decisions, which put major hurdles in front of states that want to pass laws protecting unborn children. The next morning, President Joe Biden, the second Catholic to be elected to the presidency in the United States’ history, issued a statement, which concluded:

If the Court does overturn Roe, it will fall on our nation’s elected officials at all levels of government to protect a woman’s right to choose. And it will fall on voters to elect pro-choice officials this November. At the federal level, we will need more pro-choice senators and a pro-choice majority in the House to adopt legislation that codifies Roe, which I will work to pass and sign into law.

…If this isn’t an act worthy of censure by Biden’s pastor, then nothing is. In fact, in a press conference, Biden defended Roe v. Wade:

Roe says what all basic, mainstream religions have historically concluded, that right, the existence of a human life and being is a question. Is it at the moment of conception? Is it six months? Is it six weeks? Is it “quickening” like Aquinas argued? —CA

Even Obama made a pretense of humility in claiming this question was ‘above his pay grade’. By invoking catholic saints to defend abortion on demand and without apology, the ‘devout’ Biden is now an even more extreme supporter of abortion than Obama was in his 8 years.

Why are deacon Fournier and Bishop Strickland using words like heretic and apostate? It’s because he is using theological language to defend practices specifically condemned as sin by the church he says he belongs to. In so doing, he has become the sort of ‘leader’ and ‘false teacher’ that was warned about by the Apostles themselves.

The media are not wrong in calling Biden a devout man, but they have misidentified his religion.

The reason the left sees him as one of their own, while declaring open season on many other Catholics, is because he belongs to THEIR religion. He is a devout defender of progressive secularism.
