How is this funding not putting “America Last”?
Since Joe Biden took office in January 2021, inflation is skyrocketing, violent crime is on the rise, gas prices are hitting new highs, there is a supply chain crisis including a very disturbing shortage of baby formula, and thousands upon thousands of people are crossing the southern border illegally — but Congress has decided to send $40 billion to Ukraine to help them secure their borders.
It was wasn’t even close with a vote of 368 to 57 and 5 not voting.
That’s telling.
But if you oppose sending truckloads of cash to corruption-riddled Ukraine to fund the opposition to the Russian invasion, then you’re an evil, heartless bastard who probably worships Vladimir Putin.
It couldn’t possibly be that you think that money has to come from somewhere and that you understand that just printing more of it is driving inflation and causing suffering here in America. No, it’s because you adore Putin.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) actually thinks it’s worse than that. The pro-abortion Catholic thinks that you’re a bad Christian. She went to the Bible and quoted the words of Jesus to defend the gargantuan spending package.
Pelosi: “When you’re home thinking about [what $40 billion to Ukraine] is all about, just think about ‘when I was hungry, you fed me’ from the Gospel of Matthew.” pic.twitter.com/J1NukSFVuo

See? If you don’t send $40 billion of U.S. taxpayer money to Ukraine, you’re not following the teachings of Jesus.
There’s just one problem there, Nancy — the White House admits that the majority of this funding is for weapons, not just humanitarian aid.
According to the White House Fact Sheet that had requested $33 billion in aid, the majority was to be allotted for defense spending and security. “$20.4 billion in additional security and military assistance for Ukraine and for U.S. efforts to strengthen European security in cooperation with our NATO allies and other partners in the region.”
I don’t recall Jesus endorsing funding foreign proxy wars in the Gospels, but hey, maybe that’s just me.
Pelosi was dragged on Twitter for this stunt. One of the best digs was by Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian.

Even if you support helping out Ukraine as many Americans do, this amount of spending is beyond irresponsible.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said as much on The Ingraham Angle on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately, only 56 other Republicans agreed with Congressman Jordan.
One of them was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene who brought up the very same issues — the U.S. has got a whole lot going on at home and spending so much on Ukraine afte
I voted NO to send $40 Billion American tax dollars to Ukraine.
That bill does things we should not be doing.
Americans are suffering from a baby formula crisis, a border crisis, skyrocketing inflation and fuel crisis, and they are fed up with America last politicians. https://t.co/VQ3xpq0lnw

70% of House Republicans voted to send $40 Billion to Ukraine last night https://t.co/WV15N3nWtn

Americans can’t afford groceries or gas and have dwindling access to baby formula, but the ruling class is sending another $40 billion to Ukraine.
These sadists not only don’t give a crap about you – they WANT you to suffer.

American babies may starve because there’s no baby formula. But at least we’re shoveling money to a bunch of oligarchs and kleptocrats halfway around the world. https://t.co/DreB8YJptv

It wasn’t just those on the right of the political spectrum blasting this vote — some prominent left-leaning voices were condemning the Democrats who used to be against the “military-industrial complex” for supporting this spending bill.
Last night, 57 House Members voted NO on the bill to send another $40 billion (on top of the $14b already spent) to the war in Ukraine.
All 57 NO votes were Republicans. *All Squad members* joined all other Democrats to vote YES.
Does this tell us anything about these factions? https://t.co/jEDSKD3jVa

Who would have imagined that in the year of our Lord 2022, a group of Republicans and Democrats would be lumped together and labeled extremists for opposing sending $40 billion we don’t have to fight a proxy war with a nuclear power?
We live in very strange times.
