WOKE WEST POINT: FOIA Request Exposes Biden Admin’s MASSIVE Effort To Politicize Uncle Sam

Not so long ago, we understood that the military had exactly one priority. Be so effective at defending American interests that our enemies have every reason to fear us.

West Point is intended to be a place where some of our best and brightest go to learn how to lead our troops into battle, destroy whatever needs destroying, and bring as many as possible back home again.

Combat readiness is the point. At least, it was supposed to be.

With a finite number of hours available for training, one might expect the lessons that are best equipped to make the leaders of tomorrow so they can make life and death decisions on which thousands of lives would possibly depend to take priority.

There’s a lot to learn, and we can’t master everything, so less important things will necessarily be set aside so our leaders can learn those mission-critical lessons.

Except, that’s no longer the case under the Biden administration. According to the latest FOIA requests by Judicial Watch, there is an awful lot of attention being paid to the hard left’s pet causes instead of — whatever might help us fight the war of tomorrow.

The military was never supposed to be about pitting red against blue. It was always supposed to be about Red, White, and Blue.

Remember when Milly said he was reading the book about ‘white rage’?

He wasn’t the only one drinking the Kool Aid. At this point we’re serving it to our whole military… at the expense of far more important training.

Judicial Watch announced today it received 518 pages and 135 pages of records revealing critical race theory (CRT) instruction at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point. One training slide contains a graphic titled “MODERN-DAY SLAVERY IN THE USA.”

The records were obtained through two Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits against the U.S. Department of Defense, which were filed after it failed to respond to requests for records concerning critical race theory training at West Point (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Defense (No. 1:21-cv-01795)) and emails related to such training of LTG Darryl A. Williams, Superintendent, United States Military Academy, BG Mark C. Quander, Commandant, U.S. Corps of Cadets, U.S. Military Academy, and CSM Michael J. Coffee, former U.S. Military Academy senior enlisted leader, (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of Defense (No. 1:21-cv-02616)). —JudicialWatch

The press release is too long to include here (although we do recommend you read the whole thing), but here are a couple of examples.

West Point training now includes:

— teaching about ‘whiteness’
— A slide show ‘Modern-day Slavery In The USA’
— How White Networks Exclude Black Men from Blue-Collar Jobs.
— Do you think Affirmative Action creates and [sic] environment for “reverse discrimination?” Use CRT to support your answer.
— What is the difference between desegregation versus integration? How would you apply a tenant [sic] of CRT to this idea?

It’s not just pushing incendiary ideas about race relations, it’s doing the same with sex.

In the syllabus for a 3-credit Social Sciences Department class titled “The Politics of Race, Gender, and Sexuality,” an assigned reading text is “Critical Race Theory: An Introduction” by Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic. In the course description, the syllabus notes: “[T]he class will serve as an introduction to the theoretical concepts of post-modernism. This will include a focus on feminist theory, critical race theory, and queer theory.”

Why this matters:

Not only is this corrosive, creating unnecessary wedge issues among people in an organization that has been explicitly designed to over generations to create strength and uniformity in the ranks among people from ridiculously diverse starting points in life, but this takes valuable training time away from more mission-critical things.

This is a non-trivial problem.

When looking at the fatal collision between two ships in 2017, or when another ran aground in January, leadership went looking for answers, and found training deficiencies: These ships in the 7th Fleet had not mastered the fundamentals – and we noticed some issues at headquarters that may have set them up for that.”

Not only are we understaffed, we are cutting corners on the kind of training that saves lives. And for what? So that our military can march with Antifa on their days off?

When a nation has both the might and the will to back up any threats it makes, many enemies will size you up and decide the fight isn’t worth it. But once you are perceived as lacking either the will or the might, that’s when plucky upstarts start testing your boundaries.

Maintaining that takes a real investment both in the overall equipment and manpower of the forces, as well as the particular training that transforms ordinary civilians into the men and women of our military.

Under Democrats, equipment and manpower has never really been a spending priority, despite it being a Constitutional obligation. They find all kinds of tricks like sequestration to pump gazillions into programs that ‘Fundamentally Transform’ America, while bleeding military funding dry.

While China is launching as many new ships per year as France has in its entire Navy, USA is decommissioning ships faster than we are building them… despite being far below the recommended 350 ship navy. US NAVY: Too Small, Too PC, And Not Nearly Lethal Enough … Isn’t Battle-Ready (Report)
