A federal jury took less than 3 hours to decide that Bannon — who offered no defense, and did not take the stand — was to be found guilty on two counts of Contempt of Congress.
The 68-year-old now faces a minimum of 60 days in prison and a maximum of two years behind bars for refusing to comply last fall wtih a subpoena from the House select committee investigating last month’s Capitol riot, as well as a fine of up to $2,000. His sentencing was set for Oct. 21.
Outside the courthouse, Bannon told reporters that he and his team respected the jury’s verdict, but would move forward with an appeal.
“I stand with Trump and the Constitution, and I will never back off,” the former Breitbart executive chairman said.
Bannon also thanked the court officers and the jury for their participation in his trial before raging against the Jan. 6 panel.
“I only have one disappointment,” he said. “And that is the gutless members of that show trial committee — the J6 committee — that didn’t have the guts to come down here and testify.” — NYPost

What the Left doesn’t realize is that they have given Bannon exactly what he wanted. They have turned him into a political martyr who has been target for prosecution by hostile partisans who happen to have their hands on the levers of political power.
They have just given further credibility to every allegation Bannon has ever made against the incestuous relationship between the Democrat partisans and the permanent adminstrative class in the government commonly called the ‘Deep State’.
