UKRAINE: GOP Calls For Accounting Of The Money We’ve Shoveled To Ukraine

Nine months into NATO’s undeclared proxy war with Russia, the sugar high of the bandwagon excitement are waning even as the price tag keeps climbing.
Mix in the collapse of FTX and both Mini Madoff’s dubious role in the Ukraine war effort and the billions of embezzled dollars that bankrolled the political campaigns of Democrats in the midterms and there are a lot of questions about where those billions of aid dollars actually wound up.
It isn’t as though we have reasons to be suspicious of the Biden Admin’s accounting efforts — we’ve seen how numbers keep getting fudged in their favor with crime statistics — or the government in general. For example, the DOD was just audited and it was considered an IMPROVEMENT when they were able to account for 61% of their assets.
The Defense Department has failed its fifth-ever audit, unable to account for more than half of its assets, but the effort is being viewed as a “teachable moment,” according to its chief financial officer.
After 1,600 auditors combed through DOD’s $3.5 trillion in assets and $3.7 trillion in liabilities, officials found that the department couldn’t account for about 61 percent of its assets, Pentagon Comptroller Mike McCord told reporters on Tuesday.
McCord said the department has made progress toward a “clean” audit in the past year, but later added “we failed to get an ‘A.’” — The Hill
Still missing half of their assets, huh? Maybe they could try looking in Kabul…?
Since Ukraine is among the most corrupt nations on the planet, lawmakers want assurances that this military gear isn’t just being resold into some foreign market on the side. Rep Massie is calling for an audit and an inspector general, and said so on Tucker’s show.
“We should absolutely refuse to send another single penny there until we get an audit and an Inspector General,” he said. “Senator Rand Paul tried to make the stand in the Senate, only got 11 of his colleagues there to agree that we need an Inspector General. Look, in Afghanistan, we were spending about $50 billion a year. We’re on course to spend about twice of that in Ukraine, and we had an Inspector General in Afghanistan. We absolutely need one here.
“We found all sorts of waste fraud and abuse from Inspector General John Sopko, so we need one here in the Ukraine immediately, and we shouldn’t be spending any more money,” Massie said. “And there’s one other thing we should demand. You know, the guy that you quoted there said, we’ll do it for as long as it takes. The thing we never had in Afghanistan, and we don’t have in Ukraine, is what is your definition of victory? Are you going to retake Crimea? What’s your definition of victory? The American voters deserve to know.”-– Brietbart
If we’re shoveling cash out the door when America’s facing a looming crisis of both debt AND inflation, it seems reasonable to expect we’re not being hosed in some kind of an elaborate scheme like, say, the FTX account holders were.
While we’re at it, it would be good to know how many tax dollars went through that slush fund and how many found their way back into Democrat campaigns.
If Dubya’s ‘Blood for Oil’ is bad, how much MORE obscene would a Democrat ‘Blood for Votes’ scheme be?
