I Must Decrease And He Must Increase

File this podcast under, “Stuff you’ll never hear preached on in your feelgood churches”.

Christians are really good at measuring themselves against a decadent and debauched culture. It’s a moral bar set low enough that most anybody can clear it.

But how do we do with the bar that Christ sets for us. The one that calls us to go to war with our sin nature on a daily basis? The one that calls us AWAY from all the ridiculous ego-driven nonsense that drives so much of the world today?

The one that calls us to do things HIS way instead of the easy or popular way?

The one person Christ gave his highest praise to was John the Baptist. And do you know what ethic drove him forward?

If you guessed the title of this message, congrats! You’re right.

But what does that look like for someone shlepping this 3rd rock from the sun in the year of our Lord 2023?

That’s what we cover in this week’s show.
