Tucker Carlson invited the inestimable VDH onto his show to talk about news of the day, which just happened to include the Kabuki Theatre Trial of Donald Trump. The trial, Davis explains, is a symptom of a MUCH bigger problem.

The bigger problem is that the political sands have been shifting under our feet and many of us haven’t noticed.
Many on the right have been speaking as though a dangerous revolution and overturning of traditional American values was somewhere ‘out there’ on the horizon.
But moments like this one show that a mutiny, and an attempt to redefine the foundations of the world as we know it is already underway.
The rule of law is — to our adversaries — less important than naked displays of power.
Truth is — to our adversaries — a construct that can be defended or discarded depending on how it serves the larger needs of power politics.
Hypocrisy doesn’t matter because morality is always in flux. The things they need to demonize will be evil, the things they want to justify will be good, however self-evident the evil of their position might otherwise be.
Because the morality isn’t their central issue of concern.
It never was.
POWER is.
This Trump trial is ONE expression of that dynamic as the amorphous political blob searches out ways to block We The People from having any opportunity to elect their own preferred candidate.
But in the grand scheme, it is just ONE of many.
