Plausible Deniability
Paying attention to what the Left is doing to our country can be either extremely depressing, or somewhat entertaining, if not amusing, at times.

Paying attention to what the Left is doing to our country can be either extremely depressing, or somewhat entertaining, if not amusing, at times. Last month, I wrote about distractions and how the Left, in all its incarnations, uses that tactic to keep the rest of us off balance. Now, with ongoing events in the Middle East, they’ve taken their rhetoric and hatred to a level where they believe the rest of us won’t do anything in response. When questioned, they revert to a form of plausible deniability.
Plausible deniability is a phrase usually associated with politics or the military. Basically, it’s the ability of senior leadership in any organization to deny knowledge, and therefore responsibility, for the actions of people they command or otherwise supervise. It’s passing the buck in regard to actions and intentions that are not only embarrassing but also potentially illegal. It is denial. It is in fact a subtle form of lying.
It’s also part of a way to redirect and refocus your attention away from the real issue.
That’s what Satan did way back in the Garden with Adam and Eve. He succeeded in focusing their attention away from God to themselves, to within. (Gen. 3:1-7)
The Temptation of Christ (Mt. 4:1-11; Mark 1:12-13; Luke 4:1-13) was the attempt by Satan to get Christ to change His focus. Use your imagination for a second and think about this. If Christ would have given in (first of all, we wouldn’t be here talking about it…), Satan could have possibly denied having had anything to do with it. After all, he just made an offer. Christ was the one who made a choice. Fortunately, He made the right one.
Perhaps the best example of plausible deniability in scripture is the trial of Christ before Pilate. Luke’s account
(23:1-7, 13-15) is where Jesus is sent to Herod after Pilate learns He’s from Galilee. Pilate didn’t want responsibility, but neither did Herod because Christ was sent back. Both were playing an early game of pass the buck. Neither wanted to take blame and/or responsibility.
While all the Left’s current actions may not seem to fit into plausible deniability, it’s their subtle obfuscation of the truth that is becoming more noticeable. Pay attention to their rhetoric and you’ll see how they use language in an attempt to shift our focus. When they’re called out for it, we’re supposed to believe that we’re the problem; we misunderstood because of misinformation, Internet rumors, disinformation, etc., etc. Here are some current examples of attempts to change the focus.
The border crisis = humanitarian crisis. Forget the fact that every person who crosses the border illegally is a criminal.
Disagreement/difference of opinion = hate.
Question anything “woke” = racism and/or bigotry.
Mandates = healthcare.
Cancel culture is the ultimate result of changing the focus. Disagree and stand your ground against anything anti-American the Left holds sacred and you risk losing everything. They will of course deny they had anything to do with your loss because, plausibly, it’s your own fault you didn’t get in line and agree with them.
In Conclusion…
The convoluted rhetoric of the Left will continue to deny they ever plausibly deny anything. Since they are the all-inclusive ones who tell us democracy dies in darkness, they really need to explain all the anti-Semitism coming from their own ranks. Plausibly deny that….go ahead…I’ll wait. Until then, look up God’s promise to Abram, which predates Christianity and even Mosaic law. (Gen. 12:3)
