Reason Behind Naval Officer’s Court-Martial Is Now Public… It’s A Doozy

You'd think someone with a 'Navy Intelligence' background would know better

About a year ago, the Navy announced that Senior Chief Grisel Marrero was being relieved of command over a ‘loss of confidence’ in her leadership.

Before being relieved of duties, she had been command senior chief of the littoral combat ship Manchester’s gold crew.

It was hardly the only military leadership failure we have seen in the Biden years, especially in the Navy, which seem to be more frequent than we remember them being previously. Surely it’s only a coincidence that the Biden years have elevated identity politics as a leadership pre-requisite, right?

The investigation has since taken its course, and Marrero has pled guilty in her court-martial. She hasn’t been drummed out of service, but her rank has been knocked down to E-7. For someone with a ‘Navy Intelligence’ background, the particulars of this case are an especially bad look.

First, Marrero installed civilian Wi-Fi on a Naval ship, despite Navy policy prohibiting it for security reasons that ought to be obvious. Then, as is so often the case, the cover-up was worse than the crime.

Marrero “willfully coordinated the procurement, installation and use of an unauthorized and unapproved Wi-Fi system” onboard the ship between March 2023 and August 2023, according to her charge sheet.
Charge sheets state that she “willfully failed” to share a commanding officer’s suggestion box comment from a crew member about the Wi-Fi system with the then-commanding officer of the Manchester’s gold crew in June 2023.
She pleaded not guilty to an obstruction of justice charge, but was found guilty at trial, according to the trial summary record.
That charge involved an incident near Naval Base Guam in August 2023, where Marrero altered a data usage image on a chiefs mess Starlink account to reflect less data usage, which she did to “influence or impede” pending criminal or disciplinary actions against another Navy member whose name is redacted on the charge sheet copy provided to Navy Times.

She compromised cybersecurity on a naval vessel… and then obstructed justice to cover her tracks.

But she still has a job… because she didn’t do anything Biden’s military considered serious — like refuse to get an unproven ‘vaccine’ that prevents neither infection nor transmission of the virus it was engineered to protect against. Or denigrate Communism in a podcast on your day off.

Something like that could add your name to a ‘purge list’ … if such things actually existed.

Oh, that?
Unusual Cluster Of Navy Brass Firings … Is Biden Resuming Those Obama-Era Purges?

There’s probably an entirely innocent explanation.

But that headline was 2022. Since then, Biden has put forward only the best leaders. People like *checks notes* (former) Senior Chief Grisel Marrero.

Well, THAT didn’t age well, now, did it?
