Election Integrity EO Practically DARES Dems To Involve The Courts
Schumer may be rope-a-doping the Senate, but Trump still has a play
With an Executive Order, Trump just called the bluff of Dems who claim to care about election integrity. Will they seek a court injunction to block it?
Thune’s Senate has enough weak-willed RINOs in the conference that forcing Dems to actually show UP and enforce their filibuster isn’t gong to happen. Schumer just runs it on autopilot and the GOP lets them.
(If they were smarter, they would write a one page bill obligating the government to pay, in full, any employee who is obligated to show up for work, and they would call it the Emancipate Schumer’s Slaves Bill, or ‘Washington Frees The Slaves’ bill — or something pithy like that.)
Trump just announced a new Executive Order.

Dems are already angry about it. For some reason.
Like the Governor of the swing state of Wisconsin.
Of course, having a governor challenge an EO that is bound to be fast-tracked to SCOTUS in time for the coming election is probably the entire reason Trump is making this EO at the end of March.

Why is it they are so mad?
Trump’s order just codified a couple of specific mandates that executed on GOP’s goal of ‘easy to vote and hard to cheat’.
Interestingly, Trump explicitly anchored the rationale for this order in existing legal and constitutional precedents. It is a federal crime for non-citizens to vote. There are existing mechanisms to determine a would-be voter’s eligibility, and there are both statutes, and Constitutional Artlcle II authority in which the president’s authority to take such actions in the defense of voter integrity are justified.
Sec. 2. Establishment and Transmission of State Citizenship Lists and Prioritization of Investigations and Prosecutions Related to Election Fraud.
3. United States Postal Service Rulemaking on Mail-In and Absentee Ballots.
The meat of the provision is in the two points above. Federal agencies will check voter lists against lists we have of illegal aliens, and most likely check for people getting multiple ballots in different addresses.
Considering the massive noncompliance we have seen among ‘sanctuary states’ like California even AFTER courts explicitly order them to clean up their voter rolls, it makes sense that ballots that fall under federal law would be subject to federal scrutiny.
Dems don’t WANT scrutiny. For some ‘inexplicable’ reason.
But the Trump admin has found a clever way to make use of the SAME US Postal Service that Dems EXPLOITED to maximize mass-mail ballots in the 2020 elections to SECURE ballots in 2026.
If you’re using the mail to send out a ballot, it’s getting a unique identifying barcode once the voter has been authenticated as genuine, as explained here:

If there are 1,000,000 mail-in ballots, there will be a corresponding 1,000,000 uniquely bar-coded envelopes.
That means no mysterious late-night tranches of votes pulled out from duffle bags or boxes from God-only-knows-where being added to the count. Fraud gets MUCH easier to spot if 20,000 vote irregularities pop up in the paperwork.
Dems are planning to fight this. Again, for ‘some reason’. (We all know why.)
If we see a massive drop-off of votes this year, Dems will cry ‘foul’ over suppressed votes. But that ignores the simpler explanation that illegitimate votes are now being screened.
The best part could be the knock-on effects of this. It’s within the realm of possibility that the redistricting Dems have aggressively pushed in Blue States may be relying on ‘bonus ballots’ that don’t have any lawful predicate. What do you suppose might happen if inflated vote counts in blue strongholds are suddenly stripped of any chicanery?
There is a scenario (however small the likelihood), that a strong Republican GOTV effort could flip some of those ‘safe’ blue seats to red in exactly those districts where they used their ‘surplus votes’ in order to deliberately disenfranchise Republican voters through the gerrymander.
