PORTLAND BLINKS: Dropping Charges Against Reporter… But It’s NOT Over Yet

Portland's activists just kicked a hornet's nest (and we all know that never ends well)

If officials in Portland think that dismissing the charges they laid against a conservative reporter — who himself had been the victim of a crime — will make their headaches go away? Well, guess again.

As ClashDaily has already reported, the entrenched hard-left activist bias that has worked its way into Portland’s elected offices, institutions and even the legal system was unleashed against a reporter who dared to expose the truth of the ‘peaceful protests’ of the criminal agitators who have been harrassing ICE locations and other federal buildings for years.

This is one of the big hubs of such activism, which has included the assault of Angy Ngo, where his work in identifying the normally ‘anonymous’ agitators has resulted in him being chased by a swarm of attackers who left him with a brain bleed. Calls for violence against him (and his colleagues picking up the same beat) has been well-established. Not that local police and/or prosecutors have done very much about it.

Things have been heating up since ICE protests have become the focus of their energies, and heating up again when Trump as given Antifa a domestic terrorism designation. Conflicts have led to arrests, though perhaps not as many as conservatives would hope to see.

In the mean time, aggression against reporters whose job includes making Antifa’s faces (and names) famous has also been escalating, as we mentioned with the attacks against Nick Sortor and Katie Daviscourt.

Predictably, the victim, rather than the attacker, was the person of interest in Sortor’s case (no word on whether the attacker has been since apprehended).

Sortor pledged to fight the charges in court, with ZERO intention of settling his case with the prosecution, and every intention to open up all of their dirty secrets with discovery.

Surprise, surprise. It turns out they don’t WANT their little secrets to see the light of day, so prosecutors ‘after careful review’ of the evidence have decided they don’t have enough to be confident of a conviction.

Oh, really Sherlock? Didja figure that out without any help? We all saw the video of Nick trying to walk around a smug little bastard who was looking for trouble and aggressively ‘bumping’ him again and again before knocking him down.

In his own words:

BREAKING — VICTORY: Following our demand for discovery related to the @PortlandPolice’s coordination with Antifa, the Multnomah County DA has announced they will DECLINE to prosecute me

“After a careful review of the investigation, including reports and video, we do not believe the crime of Disorderly Conduct can be proven against Mr. Sortor beyond a reasonable doubt.”

I will still be appearing in court at the Portland Justice Center at 2pm PT to finalize this.

And trust me, this is ONLY the beginning 😉

Oh, there’s something about coordination with Antifa you don’t want us to see? How very interesting.

It’s lucky for you that you didn’t open yourselves to any litigious action by, for example, arresting a journalists without any just cause or anything…. right?

Oh you DID….? Well sucks to be you, then.

Have fun in the ‘find out’ phase of this equation. I hear it’s pretty terrible.

Here is on Hannity’s show talking about his experience and people who threaten that he will be ‘Charlie Kirk’ed’ if he keeps coming out:

Seems a good time to mention a related book by Doug:

Lionhearted: Making Young Christian Males Rowdy Biblical Men

Dear young Christian male, this book you’re about to read is meant to challenge you to your very core. Its intent is not to make you feel warm and fuzzy. Some of the chapters will upset you greatly, especially if you’re a dandy who was raised with kid gloves by a helicopter mommy.

That said, in addition to the holy introspection contained herein, this book will also shoot adrenaline into your soul. It’ll push you to be a Godly risk taker and earth shaker. A veritable Rebel With A Cause just like the Captain of Our Salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you want a feel-good book that tickles your ears and morphs you into a little Christian popinjay, this tome ain’t for you. You should put this book down and walk away from it immediately. However, if, young man, if … your motto is to give God your utmost for His highest, and you wanna live a life worthy of Christ’s death, then this book will be grist for your mill.
