Democracy is Anti-Christian: Christians need to Wake Up

The ideology that is most embraced by the West and the least challenged is not liberalism, homosexualism, feminism, postmodernism or capitalism. It is democracy. The spirit of democracy has swept through the Church with many Christians showing support for separation between Church and state. Before one can understand a doctrine, one must carefully examine its origins. The origins of the doctrine of separation of Church and state arose when the Church failed to stop usury, abomination to God. (Ezekiel 18:13)

The Bible may not mention the word “democracy”, but that does not mean God approves of it. Similarly, the Bible does not mention “abortion”, but God does not approve of it because it is murder. Democracy is rule by the people, for the people, of the people. It elevates humankind to be sovereign above all things, violating God’s sovereignty.

In Romans 13:1-2, the Bible states: Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. (Romans 13:1-2)

Since democracy elevates man’s laws to be above that of God’s laws, democracy is an attempt to usurp God from His rightful position that humans are not even worthy to even pick up crumbs from. Anything that attempts to usurp God’s Sovereignty, or to pervert God’s order for the Universe or World, is against God, hence, anti-Christian.

The spirit of humanism that democracy possesses explains why democracy can only be true democracy if it is secular, that is, without God. Within the rules of democracy, the interests of the people under it are to be paramount and “up-to-date” with the spirit of the times. The phrase “up-to-date with the times” is a humanistic one, which implies that man’s rules are paramount, and that morality can be abandoned whenever it suits a social goal.

Since what values are to be embedded and respected by law are determined by the interests of individuals, the spirit of democracy is one of individualism. The product of such individualism renders democracy to be the rule of the majority. Many people, including many Christians, are blinded to the majoritarianistic rule of democracy, and hence are lead to believe that standing up for minority values, such as Christian values, is illegitimate, as it amounts to imposing one’s views on another. However, majority views are legitimately embedded in the law because democracy is rule by majority. That is why Christians are marginalised in a secular democratic society. That is why Christians are accused of being “biased” when they stand up for their values. That is why secularists, feminists, atheists, progressives and liberalists are never “biased” when they force the Church to eradicate its values of a “bygone era”.

In America, the name of God cannot be used in public schools. In Australia, where I am from, people yell “discrimination” and “evildoer” as soon as it is suggested that people study the history of religion or merely are exposed to Creationism in school. Australia’s cultural decline is actually much worse than that in America. At least in America, there are people keeping up the “good fight” through independent media. The Christians in Australia are asleep and barely aware of the future of the cultural downward spiral towards destruction. At least in America, the motives of those anti-Christians activists are known, and many young people are against abortion. In Australia, anyone who even speaks against abortion is seen as “backwards” and “misogynist” . About 60% of Australians are in favour of abortion. Many of those young, cocky, arrogant, aggressive, self-centred, manipulative, controlling, domineering young Australian women were “worried” about Tony Abbott’s views on abortion.

Don’t believe me? Come and live in Australia for a month and watch the mainstream media channels. Observe the radical feminism on campus. They will beat you up, verbally, psychologically and spiritually if you even speak in doubt about them.

Such a spirit of individualism and humanism leads to cultural decline, accounting for the low economic growth in Australia, and low respect for Australians overseas. Australia is becoming more and more anti-Christian by the day, and becoming more liberalised, sexualised and mammonised at an accelerating rate. It is because of the spectre of individualism and humanism that has seduced Australia into thinking the future is bright, when it is anything but bright.
