If New York’s Attorney General thought there wouldn’t be any consequence for turning her office into a partisan attack machine, she was grossly mistaken.
Nikki Haley is generally assumed to be making a play for the 2024 Republican Presidential primaries where she would be considered one of the more ‘centrist’ candidates.
Her nonprofit policy advocacy group, Stand For America, Inc. became the center of a news story when left-aligned news media got their hands on confidential donor lists. When she was shown a copy of the document, it had a stamp showing its origin.
The leak can be traced back to the office of NY Attorney General Letitia James. This is not information that can be lawfully disseminated and Haley is demanding that this action carry consequences.
Even before she took office, James made it clear she would use her office to target and harass Republicans. She actually ran on a promise of harassing Donald Trump… and she has kept that promise.
That’s really not how law enforcement is supposed to work, Letitia. You don’t identify a person and look for a crime. The law is supposed to concern itself with looking at a crime and identifying a perpetrator.

She is filing suit against the AG because leaking this information is a violation of State law. She will follow that up with a letter to AG Garland, because leaking tax information is also a violation of FEDERAL tax law.
