Welcome to Biden’s America, where inflation and supply chain issues mean you’ll be paying a lot more for a Thanksgiving turkey… if you can find one.
On Wednesday, CBS 4 in Boston reported that the supply of turkeys nationwide is down by 60 percent.
Geez! Can Biden even afford to pardon a turkey this year?
Left-wing media outlet Vox says, “The best Thanksgiving turkey might be the one you can get.”
If you do manage to snag a bird, be prepared for it to cost you more.
The costs associated with getting the bird to market have gone up — feeding them is more expensive now that corn and soybean prices are continuing to rise, and of course, any shipping is a problem right now. Shipping from farm to processor to retailer is suffering from bottlenecks as the Biden-Harris “Brandon” admin continues to fail to deal with supply chain issues.
There are also labor shortages affecting multiple industries — including food processing plants — thanks to the Biden-Harris “Brandon” administration’s vaccine mandate and government response to the pandemic in 2020.
The article adds that it isn’t so much a “shortage” since farmers are still raising turkeys.
An estimated 46 million turkeys are eaten each Thanksgiving in the United States, and nearly 9 in 10 Americans eat turkey on the holiday. Thanksgiving is the turkey industry’s Super Bowl, and this year, like last year, that main event is going to look a little bit different. According to the USDA, frozen turkey inventories are 24 percent below their three-year average volumes, and production of turkeys is down compared to the average year.
There are turkeys out there, but thanks to supply chain disruptions and labor shortages that are plaguing countless industries, it’s going to be a bit more challenging and more expensive to get one this year.
“I don’t like the word ‘shortage’ in this scenario. It’s not like we forgot to start raising turkeys,” said Trey Malone, an agricultural economist at Michigan State University. “What’s really happening is that you have these disruptions along the supply chain. It’s not because there’s no turkeys, it’s that the turkeys are in the wrong places at the wrong time.”

Funny how we’ve gone from the White House tweeting, “you can save $0.16 on your July 4 BBQ” to Vox citing the Department of Agriculture’s Turkey Report, “whole frozen turkeys already cost about 26 cents a pound more this year than they did last year.”
But don’t worry — The New York Times is here to help.
They’re suggesting that you should try a “Sidesgiving” and skip the bird altogether.

Of course, they were mocked mercilessly for this.
Yeah, this will work. https://t.co/TIPzMtJax6

We went from .16 cent savings on 4th of July to Turkeys disappearing from Thanksgiving and Christmas costing more than ever.
It’s time to put the Easter Bunny in the witness protection program. Or we could hide him at the border and the White House will pretend he doesn’t exist. https://t.co/ybs5VBishB

Biden will be polling in the 20’s if this type of stuff continues to be the response to Americans’ legitimate concerns with supply chain and inflation issues. https://t.co/d8maeh63hw

This is what happens when The NY Times knows Biden’s approvals can go even lower in the next 3 weeks. https://t.co/JFfB9UxCkJ

Stephen Miller thinks that taking away the turkey from Thanksgiving is just the tip of the iceberg…
You don’t really need that 3 bedroom home.
You don’t really need 3 kids.
You don’t really need that SUV
You don’t really need even two cars
You don’t really even need turkey https://t.co/icUKe6UH0N— Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) November 11, 2021
I don’t want to inherently think what’s happening with gas, groceries and supply chains is being done on purpose but gosh they make it so hard to believe that.

So we’ve got no turkey for Thanksgiving, supply chain problems causing shortages for Christmas, and inflation that isn’t so temporary after all.
There’s only one response to this…
