Kid Rock has never exactly been ‘politically correct’. Was this fair game or does he owe her an apology?
We all know who Kid Rock is, right?
To call him an ‘anomaly’ is an understatement. He’s a musical superstar from Michigan, just dripping with patriotism, who has somehow found a musical niche that appeals to fans of Rock, Country, and Rap/Hip-hop alike.
He’s a man with some very strong opinions, and he isn’t afraid to articulate them.
And what he said about Joy Behar on live television is no exception.
If that offends you, maybe you need to take a step back and see what he was doing there. It was a joke made to underscore his point. Even HE said so.
What was his point? We’re too damned touchy about our political differences, we can’t even discuss them rationally anymore. He was calling us to turn the political temperature down again so that we can actually look for some common ground.
It was right in the middle of that idea that he said ‘love everybody, except … screw that Joy Behar bitch, everybody but that.’
The crowd cheered after his joke. The guy holding the mic — not so much. When the host backpedaled, Kid Rock explained his joke was just that — a joke.
Now, why did specifically naming Joy Behar in that dig make it funny?
Because she, together with her co-hosts on The View, is one of the chief offenders of habitually hating and cursing anyone who deviates from her ideal political model even a little… teaching her audience to ‘hate’ her ‘enemy’.
