‘Is This Hate Speech?’ Ted Cruz Asks Social Media Big-Wigs Why A Quote By Mother Teresa Was Censored

Sen. Ted Cruz(R-TX) asks Big Tech gurus one simple question… guess what he got as an answer?

If you said a blank, deer-in-headlights stare accompanied by a long, awkward silence — then congratulations, you’re right!

In late March, Sen. Cruz was concerned over what appeared to be censorship of the Twitter account for the pro-life movie, Unplanned coincidentally on the show’s opening weekend.

This isn’t the first time that Big Tech has smacked down those that support a pro-life position.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn(R-TN) had her pro-life ad banned from Twitter. The social media company claimed that her statement, “I’m 100 percent pro-life. I fought Planned Parenthood and we stopped the sale of baby body parts, thank God,” was “an inflammatory statement likely to evoke a negative reaction.”

The pro-life Susan B Anthony List has also had some of their posts censored. (More on that later.)

Democrats have moved away from “safe, legal, and rare” to siding with the Shout Your Abortion movement that calls for abortion to be “government-funded, on-demand, with no apology.”

Everywhere you turn, it seems that the pro-life position is being marginalized.

Democrat presidential candidates for 2020 have planted their flag firmly into the pro-abortion camp.

A Girl Scout was given an award for her pro-abortion activism.

They’ve published a coffee table book that features stories of women who have had abortions as well as some pro-abortion fashion.

Pastors and faith leaders “blessed” an abortion clinic.

Hollywood starlets are turning into Bible scholars to push a pro-abortion agenda.

(Hey, we never said any of this pro-abortion activism was particularly intelligent.)

Senator Cruz did something that he could do — he had Big Tech answer for themselves in a Senate Judiciary’s Subcommittee on the Constitution hearing called, “Stifling Free Speech: Technological Censorship and the Public Discourse.”

Sen. Cruz has been looking for the answer to the single most important question and so far, he hasn’t been given a straight answer. All he wants to know is what defines “hate speech.”

That’s it.

It seems that censorship always falls on one side of the abortion debate, and never touches the other.

Planned Parenthood can say anything they want on social media, no matter how ridiculous, and the platforms don’t even blink.

Biological men can threaten to curb-stomp biological women for not accepting that “trans women are women” and you’ll get kicked off of Twitter.

But quote Mother Teresa that “abortion is profoundly anti-woman” and your post will be censored.

Watch a tremendously long silence when Sen. Cruz asks Twitter’s director of public policy and philanthropy in the U.S. and Canada, Carlos Monje, Jr. if the Mother Teresa quote was “hate speech”:

Monje completely evades the question.

The Susan B. Anthony List Twitter account then decided to weigh in.

Here is what they’ve been facing:

The social media team for Unplanned claims that they were slandered during the hearing:

As Sen. Cruz said, nobody wants government regulation on speech, but voices are being silenced because they’re the “wrong” — ie. non-leftist viewpoint. That needs to end.

Those of us that are pro-life appreciate that Sen. Cruz is shining a light on this issue of censoring people that oppose abortion.

Rules For Radical Christians is not a survival devotional designed to help the young Christian adult limp through life. Rather, it is a road-tested, dominion blueprint that will equip the young adult with leadership skills and sufficient motivation to rise to a place of influence in an overtly non-Christian culture. Rules For Radical Christians gives the reader the keys to become strategically equipped to move into an anti-theistic environment and effectively influence it for the glory of God.
